Hi all,
Just wanted a little help identifying my warning light that has just come on with audible beep. Due to the dash display being faulty, I'm guessing it can only be a brake warning???? Possibly front pads worn? Although visually the pads look pretty thick still, any help would be...
Hey peeps,
So car was still starting fine apart from over the past 3 days, had 3 separate occasions where it sounded like flat battery, but then started next try. I recently replaced starter motor so thought I better replace battery if showing low reading. Well, had the car for over 3 years and...
Thanks, I'll get it replaced anyway and then ask the garage to check the dodgy idle out, think i'll have to leave this to the Mechanics, thanks for your help, probably not as easy a fix as I hoped.
Thanks superkarl, you are a legend mate, any idea if this would affect the cars idle or acceleration from cold start? (I guess maybe no, as you can tell not that savvy as regards to Engine function) sorry, I am learning though!
Hi everyone,
Any Idea what the hose/pipe with the blue tape on is called. Please see Pictures below (whoever answers first is a legend)
(I will have another look tomorrow in the daylight to see if I can locate a part no.)
Background
So I have a 2001 Audi A3 1.8T Sport (AUM Engine code...
Well got my car back today woohoo! :o.k: So far so good, only had a short run about 10 miles, but it seems much smoother and the engine more quiet. I also noticed the MPG creeping up, used to get around 24.2MPG around town, tonight it rose to 26MPG (and hopefully it will get better). Also my...
No probs mate, i'm throwing caution to the wind and will let the garage choose. I think they will go for plastic as it is cheaper and after reading the other dudes post (tuffty) maybe plastic is the way to go!
Wow 3 cambelt changes the old girl must have spent many miles with you then
hi Nilz,
that's a great price mate. Specially for genuine parts. Do you know if they did metal or plastic impeller?
I'm in Essex to answer your question.
Hi too hot, yes it is including parts, but the garage are basically doing me a really good deal to keep my custom, as I said my dad has used them for a long time and also that's why I am getting them to do a few more bits for me as I know they are looking after me. (Well hopefully, I have not...
Hey Freeman,
that is still a pretty good price from what I have seen and nice touch having the S-line in the meantime, I bet you didn't want to give it back alright :o.k:
Hi Gmac,
I think most places say around 4 hours labour for cambelt and water pump, not sure what my garage will be putting down, I will post the details when I get the bill. I'm sure some people say it can be done in less than 4 hours.
Funny thing was when the Audi centre quoted me £499 I...
 Hi peeps, after much deliberating and ringing around I have finally decided to get the Cambelt and Waterpump replaced in my Audi A3 1.8T 2001. I thought I would write a quick post as this maybe helpful to others as deciding whether to get the work carried out or not can be quite a...
Hey guys,
Just a quick update, I managed to speak with the person who worked on my car and he advised me the throttle body was cleaned and then alignment done via the software and other settings adjusted!
Car is still running fine, only difference I have noticed is I seem to be getting...
Hi B5NUT,
that's what I was worried about and I did argue that fact with them, but unfortunately am not clued up on the fault codes etc as you can tell.
By resetting the faults could that have sorted the idle fault???
As now the car is running good again!
