import duty is always s massive problem for me with my chevy race engine. every part of it comes from the states.
We just buy extra baggage on the plane and bring all the parts back in a suit case haha. There was only the block we couldnt manage ( 190lb was pushing it lol)
chain stretch or tensiorer failure has zero impact on oil consumption. heavy oil useage is caused through 1 of 2 things, oil seal rings on the piston have worn, or valve stem oil seals leaking badly, more prone on classic cars. or i suppose a worn turbo but that gives different problems as well...
i have a bmw specialist and trust me, bmw are NOT with out there faults!!!
I have lost count of how many chain stretch / chain jump cases i have seen through out the e90 smaller engines and mini's.
The only thing i would say with bmw, the bigger the engine size, the better they seem to be for...
sorry mate but i would be having that chain and tensioner looked at asap! mine sound exactly the same, when i stripped it down the tensioner had completely failed.
mine has full history and only 55,000 miles. i think theres a lot of cars out there suffering with the problem but people just try...
mine ran out of fuel at 312hp lol☹️☹️☹️☹️
what was interested was everthing else on the car was flowing so much air with an uprated hpfp we were confident it would make really strong 2+ figures.
we arnt jumping on you fella, just curious about the bad feedback you've heard.
My money wouldnt go any where else other than unicorn but to answer your question all i could think between the 2 companys would be your paying more for a name??
Hope all goes well who ever you choose mate, makes a...
i'll second that, i'd love to know whoes had a bad experiance with rick!!?? the guys as sound as they come and a very knoledgeable when it comes to tuning. very very clever guy.
and dont foget think about there ratio of cars compared to our market!! its huge the number of tfsi engine cars over there.
Like alex said, fuel pump internals need to be put together very sterile really, they run on unbelievable fine tolerance.
i'll throw a 3rd option into the mix for you, pipewerx down pipe. £275 they advertise on ebay, based in west lancashire.
These look extreamly well made also.
nearly new 2.0 tfsi GFB DV+ valve. Was on my 2009 audi s3 until i changed to a Forge Motorsport BOV. All in original box and eveything included.
Looking for £70 posted.
my issues are as follows.
1. fitment and build is appalling for the cost of the exhaust. it took me over 2 weeks on and off the ramps at my work to get this thing to fit, to what i see is a level of accuracy, yes i may be a bit ocd but i just like things to look right. Im not an home diyer, i...
exactly why you are always best going to some one like rick rather that these genetic maps from some of the big names. with people like rick you get so much more for your money and support for further modification.
yeh think im going to go bcs soon as i have got the pump done.
im in same boat, i got the milltek so cheap i couldnt say no to it really. got mine through euro car parts.
i made same mistake as you with the exhaust, i really dislike my milltek. rubbish fit and sounds rubbish too. quality really has dropped off with this company.
