A friend of mine bought a factory order Range Rover Sport a couple of years back and that turned up without the winter pack (heated seats etc). They offered him the car and only a refund for the winter pack. He refused and so they ordered him a new car, took his part exchange and let him have...
Hi all, not posted for a while and not got the S3 anymore but still lurk as I have a soft spot for Audi's.
Just to add to the topic and maybe dispell a few myths as I have an RS Mountune 350 (waits for rocks to fly).
The bad points: seems like the obvious has been perhaps over stated but yes...
Don't suppose the Oct track temperature helped. Carrying a lot of speed my S3 would understeer on that bend but it was consistant and predictable. Watched the vid a few times and still can't quite make out why the S3 crashed.
Done the Ring many times now and yes it is a risk but you have go in...
Big change in motors but glad your enjoying the S3. Must admit that the thought of a GT-R keeps passing through my mind but then I have to put my sensible head on as mines a second car so a lot of wedge sat in the garage. Remap on the S3 is the way to go, just wakens the car up ....... enjoy!
In the past I have totally dismissed Boxters until I had a new one for three days while the 911 was in for repairs. I would now say the Boxter S is a VERY capable car and definatley gives the grin factor even comparing to a 911.
Tough choice you have which I suppose all comes down to what works for you i.e. ask say 6 folk and they will all have a different needs. Will you be happy with the drop in power from M5 to smaller hatch S3? Personally I preffer smaller cars and loved every minute of S3 ownership with no regrets...
I had an S3 for 2 years, Giac map and Miltek, I've many happy memories with it hurtling round the Nurburgring. Fantastic car which i'd still recomend to anyone thinking of buying one but like you the 911 kept popping in my head and so eventually I went for it. I bought a 997 C2 (rear wheel...
Have a tracker fitted to my current car, was already fitted when I bought it so just had it reactivated. Fob needed new battery so the tracker wasn't detecting the fob and thought the car was being stolen. In short I backed out of my garage and got about 100yrds before I got a call off the...
I'd agree that the claimed increase of a remap is misleading. That said, put aside max bhp and torque figures and ask does it drive better/stronger. For me the answer is yes hence a remap IMHO is worth the money on an S3 but as read not all Audis. Just don't expect an F1 car for £500.
Sold my S3 to main dealer, took it in with Miltek and remap to do the deal. All we agreed was the mod's would come off before I let him have the car. They had no problem sticking the car on the forecourt with an Audi warranty.
Salesman did want a drive of the car modded and agreed it was...
If you can get over the hair dresser stigma then buy the TT and tell eveyone else to get a taxi. After the wife has divorced you for buying the TT then get a Cayman/Carrera
Maybe I have simplified it a bit too much
I tried option 2 but was racking up the miles and parking in some dodgy back streets.
Went with option 1 and drive a Ford Focus TDI in the week and play with the Porsche whenever the urge takes me. Dosen't bother me at all my daily drive, I just put my head into work mode.
You'll never win...
I out ran a Ferrari F430 last week in my 997, Ferrari ran out of steam at around 250mph ........ couldn't believe my eyes though when an S3 towing a caravan came past us with an old couple up front! (sorry couldn't resist)
S3 gets a bit of bashing on here at times but for me it's one of the...
As said two different animals. If you like a few track days then the Cayman S has to be the choice, forget BHP as it will all make sense when your on the twisties. S5 V8, a great all round car and mile muncher with a nice sound track.
FYI, if you buy a used Porsche from main dealer the...
Yeah but then I'd be chatting to him about what tweeks he could do and the long journey would then commence
Pondering on a warranty at the moment as No6 piston failing and destroying the engine is not uncommon regardless of low miles on 911's and which Porsche won't acknowledge as a...
