Thought I would chime in here as I have ran both Revo 2+ and also R Tech software.
My car is a 2011 DSG S3.
Revo performed as it should for me at stage 1, had it mapped at the same time as having the Revo CAI fitted, which I also have no issues with.
Revo 2+ was rubbish for me, made 340bhp...
The only thing I can put it down to Alex is the later model S3s have different DSG software. Maybe Revo never 'cracked' the torque limiter, although this is just an assumption, I have no proof!
The lack of torque certainly points to a limiter of some sorts....
In my experience, comparing Revo 2+ along with DSG map to RTech, RTech are streets ahead.
Revo 2+ never made the power for me, capping torque at ~310lb/ft. Had the car flashed back to standard map then went to RTech and it made 390lb/ft. Huge difference. In between I did have an uprated...
Had my S3 mapped by RTech, both the DSG and ECU. Superb results, best map I have had on my S3 by far. The torque increase from my previous 2+ map was insane, ~80lb/ft.
Had the map a few months now and no issues whatsoever.
Storm developments... I know that name - didnt they do a supercharger for the VR6 back in the mid 90s?
And back on topic... looks like things are coming along nicely alex :thumbs up:
Just trying to share my experience of an 'off the shelf' DSG map vs custom and based on my experience custom is far better, just my 2p :icon thumright:
Its not all about the power with a DSG map but also quality of life stuff like custom shift points for an example :)
I have mine mapped fella, just wanted to know what the (AMD?) map did - there are a lot of companies out there mapping DSGs and not able to tell you exactly what they changed.
Had mine custom mapped at R Tech and it was at 390lb/ft. Custom map was the best thing I ever did.
That move makes no sense IMO. MPG will only be very slightly different and you will take a hit on selling the S3 and buying an A3.
Did you not look into MPG before spending lots of £££s on buying an S3?
I went to powerstation with my 2+ Revo S3 and it made the bhp it should do - was about 340 with standard intercooler, my issue was with torque but that wasnt a problem with the car or the rolling road.
Your numbers seem very strange indeed - when I took my S3 which was running stock software...
