I did use penatrating fluid before i started but wouldnt budge it. I managed to get the dog bone out with a bit of force as lukily that isnt threaded, unfortunatley the bolt has shered off flush with the subframe so i cant even get a pair of grips in it.
Has anyone ever used screw extractors...
...easy 20 miniut task. So i started undoing the 4 bolts, all fine untill i came to the last bolt the right hand one witch i think is bolted onto the subframe and the f**ker snaped :mad:, the head has come off this bolt leaving the threaded part in there.
Any ideas on what i should do

the 70/30 is bull s**t they make out their doing you a favour, apparently its a grands worth of work so you will end up paying between £300-350 depending on dealler, i paid £320. to be honest your better taking it somwere else thats independant cause you can have it done for about £300 anyway...
Ok did the N249 bypass last week aswell as changing some boost pipes, today after using the car i notice the engine managment light has come on. So i poped the bonnet and am sure i could smell some thing burning but couldnt see any problems. Would the bypass cause the light to come on? The car...
Thanks for the help rhubarb4 and tuffty the pipes are the ones as shown above. tuffty when you say remove the lot, do i need to cap anything off or keep some of it connected?
thanks for the info, have done the N249 bypass. think it must be the oil breather system then, the pipes in quetion are about 15mm in diameter and are stamped all over in the audi sighn, they conect into the side of the mani.

i have split/craking pipes directly under my manifold, they seem to be made of a harder plastic, is it ok to replace with silicone pipe or do i need to go to the steelers.

if been trying to change some of the silicone under the bonnet today and havnt reelly got any were apart from removing the front bumper.
can any one explain to me how u change the turbo pipe behind the drivers headlight, i think the headlight may need to come off not sure.

maybe ill invest in a haynes manual then, just fedup of paying somone all the time to bits that i could probably do myself. Plus i do love getin mi hands dirty somtimes.
