Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

Much if the weight was in making the chassis far more rigid to improve handling over the 130i which was rather poor. Also it is only 8 inches shorter and 1.5 inches narrower with all the same spec equipment inside.

Agree. My mate has the 335d and it is a very fast car despite being diesel. I was so tempted to get on myself. The mad monster in my held be to petrol one more time....maybe next time it will be a TD, but with the MPG etc I can get form this 135i, who knows ?

I'm glad I got the 135i. Personal preference and all that. S3 and 135i times on the ring were so close you couldn't pull them apart, so the 135i can handle and it is certainly fun to drive. To be though, I love the feel of the pull coming out of a corner, the push into the seat going up slip...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

I thought the S3 was higher from memory, but I stand corrected. I do remember reading it is lower than the 335i with the same engine and will be £210 per year as opposed to £400 for the 335i, maybe I was a bit confused as I thought the S3 was going to be £400 too.:sorry:

1900 miles now and getting better all the time. The "Grin factor" is back :superman:. I have been to Exeter and to Brands Hatch this weekend and on both trips have got 32 MPG with a mixture of a few spirited sprints, good cruising speeds and a number of 1st gear crawls for 20 mins each time...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

Does make you wonder........ I will see what it is like when nice and loose, maybe try a decent air filter and see what that does and then look at the mapping route. I don't want to self destruct the engine, so i will wait until some 135's have put some serious miles on post mapping before I do...

    Leaving Audi behind...

Good to hear you are as chuffed as I am with my 135i MSport Coupe. I now have 1350 miles on it and it is really starting to fly. The looser it gets, the faster it gets. A mate of mine has the 335D and when he changed to VPOWER Diesel he said it felt much quicker, are you running that yet ...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

From the description it sounds more like a "sprint booster" which re profiles the throttle position to the pedal position. It make the "feel" of the car far more aggressive but does not increase power at all. I had one of these before on a 3.2Ltr V6 with a supercharger and it felt great, bit...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

I haven;t noticed any of this yet, but then again they probably noticed these thing on a trach at the exteme limits of the car. On the road and in the real world, I don;t think you would evey notice this. To be honest, I find the ride firm and sporty with almost no body roll and it feels very...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

The 135i is 2 inches narrower and 8 inches shorter than the 3 series and only about 40Kgs less in weight as it has been reinforced over the std 1 series to be very "stiff"

I haven't looked for any forums yet, will do at weekend if I get time. The seats have a button to adjust the sides to really pin you to the seats. it sounds like it is operated by and air pump. A neat feature, I recon and does a good job of fitting the seats to the passenger and driver.

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

I went for the Sedona Rred in the end, it really grew on me. Can't dispute Black is best though, but I did get a very good deal and a high spec (£35k) for my S3 (2007 with 10700 miles) and £6995 with a tank of fuel and road tax. If you haven't driven one, don't test drive it unless you are...

Pick up new car tomorrow - S3 going

I will be looking into map, but not for a few months (if I can hold myself back that long) I've got about 1250 miles on it and got my first tank of Vpower in it and already it has made a difference, mostly at the top end of the rev band where it has relly picked up. I thought it was a little...
