    If you go into your dealers and ask for the 07 rear doughnut they will sell that separate from the propshaft, don't know why they won't for the 08? The part is exactly the same and it fixed my low pitch rumble.

    There should be some play in the rubber mount inside the metal bush, mine had seized solid with no play at all.

    I would bet it is the rear one as it seems to be a common fault.

    Hi sorry its late. Could you possibly tell me where you got the donut for your propshaft on your a3 from please? My local audi dealer refuses to supply just that part. Any help you can give is much appreciated. Thank you!!

    hi there mate was looking for some advice i have a a3 quattro with the dreaded vibration /loud noise at 2.2 to 2.8 revs . i have been reading your threads and decided to get the car over a pit today i have noticed that ther is a rubber damper a both ends of the propshaft gearbox / rear diff.... how do you tell what one is knackered thet both have a steel ring round the rubber coupling which ther does not seam to have much movement i would appreciate any info cheers................
