The oil pressure light in my a4 07 20t cab came on the other day at70mils/hr down the motorway, so just about to pull over and the engine juddered and died. Recovered to find cambelt snapped all 24v are smashed but don't know total extent as did not remove block, the local garage trying to find recon engine. Meanwhile called Audi they said bring it in and we will install new engine for small labour charge £800 as part of customer service. (after I picked myself off the floor) delivered car to Audi who looked at engine and now say cannot proceed until confirmation from Audi uk because cambelt not worn but snapped clean. Does anybody know why cambelt should break cleanly at just 49000 miles. I need so ammo when I speak to them so they don't fill me full of crap.
