Not sure what forum to post this question on but as I frequent this forum thought I post it here. I have just ordered the 2.0 T FSI and read in the brochure that they recommend 98 RON fuel. When I had a test drive, the salesman said they would tell clients to put a tank of Super Unleaded on every fourth tank of fuel.

I just filled up the A2 Diesel at an esso and noticed that their Super UL is 97 RON. A bit of searching on the net shows that Shell's Optimax is 98 RON.

For those out there with a 2.0 T FSI, do you use 98 RON fuel? Has there been a difference in performance and economy?

I use to put Super UL on my 330 BMW and it did make a difference to economy, performance was negligible though.

Couple more months and the car is here! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My audi centre advised me not to use optimax in the RS4!

Can't think for the life of me why they'd recommend that - makes no sense whatsoever. Did they give a reason?

Yeah thats very strange why would they say that? Optimax is the highest RON fuel we can get in this country which was developed more for performance engines.

~48-50mpg if I do about 55mph on a normal road. LEE, out of interest, do you have tinted backwindows in that picture, or is it just the light (and if you do, how much, and do you have better picturers)?
