What the!!! lol, another soon to be gay thread Aythreee....lol

So now its picking on 3.2 DSG's lol.... haa haa on on it goes......

Oh and thank you Waring192 for the offer, will take you up on it one day!!

happy days its still going and all these threads because i thought the s3 was a lot faster than a 3.2 great init since i started this ive had a play with a astra vxr and an a4 2.0tdi is it me or the car that attract silly people thinking its an normal a3 im driving:whip:

Never mind all you 3.2 owners...

Have a look at the poll about clutches on the S3 and pee yourself laughing... :)

Well chaps...i brought a £35k S3....imediatly had to spend a load more to get it to go quick....the after 25k miles if blew its clutch and DMF...but its a great car...honest .,..no really :eyebrows:
Touché !

Or buy a 3.2 spend nothing on making it go faster and still end up with a car that doesn't run hey paddy ;)
FWIW my car had 43k miles when I handed it over mapped for the bulk of it and not a single issue ;)

He He nice one....

".....So I bought a 3.2 because it has 6 cylinders, and yet after only 40K it now only runs on 4, and its going to cost me 5K to get the other 2 working. And guess what the bhp will be after Ive been relieved of that 5K.......errrrr......"

Sorry mate, couldnt resist.:eyebrows:

cheers
Paul

Bit of a difference here mate. The first is a decent scalp for sure but the second ...... were you cycling or running ? Or hopping ? No real achievement otherwise as a 3.2 would eat it for breakfast - even Paddy's V4 A3 would beat one of these.

Wrong again ! it doesn't run on 6....lol

So far....
Found the problem....its the ECU......Change ECU no different..
Tried pulgs and coils sir.....no different
We have taken the top off sir..its the cam chain tensioner..
Yup that fixed it but do you mind if the engine light stays on ??
Why?
Well we think we snagged a wire putting it back together..
Well un-snag it then !!
You do realise the bill is now in excess of £2.5k sir
Hi, we stripped it down again and we now think its the cam shaft sprokets...troble is it will be another £2.5k and we will be putting the old chain on new sprockets...
Well how much is a chain ??
Engine out sir..hmmm another £5k on top say...£10k-£11k all in ?
We will ring you Thursday...

Needless to say they didnt. ...So, i am guessing the sprockets didnt do the job..

If an Audi main dealer cant fix it then who ?? I mean it was just a small misfire on starting for about 30 seconds and then fine.

And while i sit there waiting to see the service manager for 15 minutes...the 2 girls on reception are playing space invaders on their PC's at the front desk...and that is why all this cost £150 an hour..
Not bitter at all. :)

Useless!! I would write or call Audi UK......

Yeah I think if you contacted jeremy hicks he would have something to say about the experience your having... You have the potential to buy another audi and he has the ability to get you back on side.
A professionally toned letter should hopefully get his attention...

Aw Paddy, you have opened the door now on these S3 guys lol.....non will want to admit their maps have affected the clutches etc, but I know from old it does!!!!

Crumbs! Audi are rubbish, surely there is someone who can fix yours! This is a joke now! Audi should offer some goodwill gesture?? They wont want more bad press, maybe

I fully agree! Well Said! And nothing ventured.....

Would you say no to a recaro dentist seat though haha lol

In Suzuka white too, nice!!!

He may have sexy buckets but like the 3.2 they arnt standard on S3s either!

But they'd look so good with your outfit, you know it's your destiny!! :o.k: Sprint blue S3 sportback with buckets incoming!

wow, a couple of threads now on S3 problem issues.....clutch slippage and micro hiccups! Hmmm, sure its worth doing the maps but when you also have to upgrade loads more too it gets pretty expensive! Maybe you are trying too hard to screw too much out of the engine!!!!:w00t:

Hope they get issues sorted though, not good!

v. bait·ed, bait·ing, baits
v.tr.1. To place a lure in (a trap) or on (a fishing hook).
2. To entice, especially by trickery or strategy.
3. To set dogs upon (a chained animal, for example) for sport.
4. To attack or torment, especially with persistent insults, criticism, or ridicule.
5. To tease.
6. To feed (an animal), especially on a journey.

And I'm not talking about your profile picture ;)

There is only one true answer to this thread, and it is "none of the above".

The saviour is incoming:

JD09
I have to say that early S3 was the best looking of the lot...We might be willing to give you special dispensation for owning a beautiful car like that. Sort of honorary 3.2 Kudos...

If the saviour is coming in an S3, lets hope the clutch holds out and he eventually makes it. shame His dad...God.. didn't lend him his 3.2 ;)

plus JD09 has a nice example one too!

No Paddy, they know im jesting, id love an S3 really but would be nervous about mappin one but if they can resolve some of the things then yup, what a car!

And oohhh the RS3! should be good!

Should pick it up later today. They say its fixed....Approx £4600 he said. ****** expensive minor misfire...lol

The 3.2 couldn't suffer clutch issues as it's too slow :lmfao:

Simple equation: No pleasure without pain

Transpose this:

v6 pleasure vs pain = All show (soundwise), not much go
s3 (modified) pleasure vs pain = no show, some go (until clutch goes!)

There's no such thing as all things to all men in the car world that I can find.

Paddy, can't believe you're so chilled mate, that is a feck load a dollar for a 'little' fix

lol, nicely put lol and soooo true the pain/pleasure comments haa haa

So what has both pleasure (and show) and no pain but plenty of go! RS3??????????

911 Turbo, R8 V10

Very different beasts, and not too far out of the reach of mere mortals in a few years, but it's as close as you'll get to pleasure with little pain (unless you have kids at which point you'll need a saw to chop off their legs!) See there is still pain in that. RS4 pain is ongoing costs....

Maybe I just expect too much.

I can see an A5 3.0TDi Quattro S-Line and a flat cap on the horizon :crying:

Nice one mate, respect to you!

best way with a 3.2 eh Warren lol :o.k:

I agree with Warren paddy you do have a good way of looking at it, best way too!

Good luck Paddy, let us know how she is! Make sure you test it fully as I can imagine them spending £5k and giving you it back without testing it!
