I've just purchased an 09 A5 with MMI - there is an inbuilt 'juke box' that you can put your own music on - allegedly!
When I got the car the 'music' on the box was shXt so I removed it all and left the juke box empty, now it will not import anything from my CD collection. I went to the dealer who sold me the car and was advised the system would not import direct from commercial CDs(?) but would if I re-recorded them onto recordable discs - I've tried this and the system still won't import anything.
I'm trying to import music as per the MMI manual - am I crazy or is the system at fault?

Try creating the tunes in mp3 format 1st then import, as I have a feeling it only imports MP3???

I'll give a go (or at least get my son to do so) but according to the manual it should import from CDs

Yeah import from cd's with mp3 tunes on possibly, but hey anythings worth a go as its free anyway lol.

The import facility or (ripping from CD) is disabled in the MMI due to legal reasons. It can be enabled with VAG COM.

Thats interesting, learn something new everyday, thanks.

Yes, thanks for the info - now is there anyone in the Bedfordshire area with VAG COM who can enable my MMI?

Link in my sig for users in your area or you could invest in vagcom yourself, from me, PM for futher info.
