Hi.
I have experienced a problem with my 2000 Audi A6 2.4 transmission fluid running out due to the seal on the tiptronic gearbox miving away from the housing. This happened after we changed the transission fluid, and pumped back 5 liters, car drove a short distance and it started pumping the ATF out. Can anyone give some advice as to what the cause could be? Could it be too much fluid pumped back in?

Hi zhanec

Did you fill the gearbox with ATF untill it overflowed the coller of the filler hole below the gearbox; & then ran the car dwelling momentarily in each gear (P R N D S etc) untill the temp reached 40c & the oil expands to the correct temp. At this temp surplus oil should have ran out & you then replace the plug.

This is a useful site if you haven't seen it.

Hi John.
I filled up through the drain plug using a high pressure pump approximately 5 litres. Started the car and let it idle, went through the gears. It drove a short distance and then the seal poped.

Thanks
