Finally got round to being brave enough to remove the grill surround, which came out surprisingly easily lol. Gave it a quick rub down, and prepped it for painting. Gave it plenty of coats of halfords matt black and a couple of lacquer, using hot air gun in between coats to speed things up a bit.
Left overnight to harden properly and fitted first thing this morning.

I think the results speak for themselves. It matches in perfectly with the rest of the grill.

wow you really did get a 100% spot on colour match, looks great nice job!

Nice job!, certainly makes things a bit better looking at the front :)

very nice, thought about getting rid of the slats behind the rings and poss mesh'ing it?

good job that matey :)

i did this at the weekend to her A3, but broke the chuffing surround :( still sprayed it to see what it looked like on the kingfisher.....so if anyone knows any with an A3 grill ;)

Thanks for all the comments people :)

Sulaiman : I'll get a pic from distance for you as soon as I can

1animal1 : Is her A3 a pre-facelift? As i have a pre-facelift grill lying around ;)

Could paint it for you too if you like, if it is pre-facelift
