Finally got the A3 and pleased as punch, so will be getting the updated disc soon, i have a problem and dont know if its me being thick or a fault, i cannot eject the disc from the head unit, -opened the screen and pushed the eject button but it will not eject and there is a disc in there, anyone have any ideas, before i phone the dealer and look like a lemon.

I'm pretty certain there is a setting on VCDS that prevents the disc being ejected - it's normally done so that the dvd doesn't go 'missing' before delivery. I'm guessing yours is a new A3? If so, get the dealer to code it correctly mate so you can eject the disc - they should have done this before you collected it really!

RNS-E was in when you got the car from the dealer though?

If yes, the same applies above - get your dealer to recode the unit for you so you can eject the disc - either that or if you're near someone with VCDS they can recode it for you for a couple of beer tokens.

Yes it is a security thing. To stop the disc going missing in company car/loan cars etc.

Simple to fix through vcds/or dealer.

Set adaptation channel 67 on the RNSe to 0 to enable the eject button.

I just got back from the dealer today, exact same problem. As the guys above say its a coding issue on the RNS where they've locked the drive so no one nicks the disk, very easy fix
