DS2500 vs EBC Red Stuff pads

Are the DS2500 pads a lot better than the ebc red stuff? I have the red stuff pads on mine and dont think the brakes are that good tbh. Ive had much better brakes on previous cars (my RX8 for example) and i thought it was maybe the s3 calipers letting it down?

I have brembo drilled discs on the front btw :icon_thumright:
 
I have no personal experience of EBC pads friends who have suggest they are not the best. I think Bill had a set delaminate from the backing plates during a track day once.

I have used (and still use) Ferodo DS2500's in both std S3 calipers and now in my 4 pot AP's and cannot fault them... never had them fade, excellent braking from cold and no squeal.

If you are in the market for pads then DS2500's all day long IMO..

ebc pads suk... period

not even close to being as good or as durable as DS2500/DS3000 series

yellows I tried on my ibiza, and they were shocking.. dead feel pedal, no bite, and severely wore the disks..
reds i run on my S6, and they are shyte (but cheap for me) - poor cold bite, avg warm bite, not in the same league as DS2500/DS3000

I resell EBC disks, but wont touch their pads for up front where they are needed to work well.
EBC disks/pads combo ironically in my experience is not where near as good or reliable as EBC/DS2500 combo which I sell a lot of..

Cheers for the advice guys decided to get some DS2500s from Bill :)

Will let u know how they compare to the redstuff pads once ive fitted em

Just looked on ebay for Ferodo DS2500, they all seem to be for other manufacturers.

I have standard S3 calipers, which do you recommend?

Bill "quoted me happy" on DS2500s, so will be buying from him as and when I need new brakes.
