Can anyone elaborate more and tell me is it a major problem. What do I need to remedy this?

It came up with:-

17965-Charge Pressure Control, positive deviation
P1557-35-00

Also, does anyone know how much a pair of original downpipes for an S4 B5 selling these days?

Thks

It means your car is overboosting, mostly likely due to a boost leak.

Get it sorted asap, or you could be looking at a bill for two new turbos

Thks for the prompt reply
I would like to change the DV's as well but what do i get? It's had a remap and am confused with 710N, n75, Forge and Baileys. what do I get and where?
The DV's has been changed to Hyperboost and I don't mind spending more cash if its helps my problem as a piece of mind.

If you already have hyperboost DV's fitted then you shouldnt need to change them, assuming they're not broken.

N75 isnt a dump valve, its the electronic solenoid used to control boost pressure.

You need to have a pressure test done on the car. Your profile says your abroad, so the usual guys in the UK probably cant help you, however all you need is a bung to replace the accordion hose, and a fitting for an airline, and a bung for the PCV valve, so its not too hard to put together yourself.

You then pressurise the inlet to say 1.2bar, and trace any leaking hoses.

I've got the reading 17964 on my 1.8T - and has the same description.

New N75 valve has been put on, but no change to the code readings. ****.
