I had a trip down to Leeds Audi today and came away a very happy man.

A 2010 A3 Sportsline Black Edition had just arrived in the Showroom - we couldn't resist. They took it out of the showrrom so we could test drive it. 3.5 hours later and we had a deal.

We pick it up next week. Cant ****** wait!

No picture can do this car justice.
 
Stunning motor mate, really stands out with that colour and wheel combo. A great choice there!
 
Nice car mate, its the same as what I've gone for,what engine is it?
 
Wait till you try and insure it. Try explaining to someone sat in Bombay that a Black Edition isn't black!

You could have had mine. I've only had it a few weeks and I don't think I've ever had a car I'm so indifferent about. Hope you enjoy yours more.
 
Hard to explain. It's a well made family car. But it doesn't do anything that a Ford Focus couldn't do. It just doesn't feel 'special'. MPG isn't bad, but as expected, you don't get anywhere near the claimed figures (I'm getting 45mpg-appreciate the engine has only got 1500m on it). While I love the look of it from the outside, it's just to clinical on the inside. It doesn't help that my last car was a coupe that had every option known to man. I changed it due to space issues and I can't help compare the A3 to that.

I can't complain to much because I got a real 'mates rates' deal on the A3, with free servicing, which was the reason I bought it after only a short test drive. It's just that my car is the one thing that I treat myself too. After a month, I can't help feel I was a bit hasty. As I said, it's competent, but I don't find an excuse to go out and drive it.
 
I was there the other day for my MOT! I'm guessing it's the one right next to the main entrance. Think I saw it had a sngle exhaust pipe as well, didn't know the new 2.0 TDi had only 1. Anyways, I have touched your car lol.

LOL - yep thats the one. The single exhaust is on the 2010 black editions 'lower emissions'. Road tax is £35 for the year. :)
 
Oh no, I like the dual exhaust! Mine should still come with it tho right? My sig has what I'm waiting for... Got me nervous now! :faint:
 
That's the 140 tho, should that make a difference? I'm sure that mine (170) doesn't come with the 'start stop' function and has £125 tax? I would be willing to pay that for the tax to keep my dual exhaust! Is that a bit sad? lol.

I think it's just that I had my heart set on them is all! If I had thought originally it had a single then so be it, but if it has changed in the last 2 months since the order was put in then I won't be happy. lol. The 140 I drove as a demo wasn't start stop and had the double... Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait and see!

Every time I go into Audi i make a bee line for the R8 and sit in it for a while :rockwoot:

I had rang Audi Leeds last week after our dreadful experience in the Harrogate Audi dealership 'stay clear'. I was told that a white edition was on its way - exactly what we were after. As soon as I saw it I knew that we had to get it :hubbahubba:

I take my hate off too Carl @ Audi Leeds - top man.
 
^ The audi staff were very confused as to why it only has one pipe - our reasoning was that its part of the lower emissions 'to be confirmed tomorrow'. They have already contact Audi HQ and are waiting for an answer.

Ive had it written into my contact that if this ^ is not the reason then they will make me a new car - with my spec of choice :)

btw I had the Auto Glym detailing thrown in for free 'should be £400'... has anyone had this done?

Confusing to say the least? I have a 2010 (59 plate) S-Line and it has a single exhaust. Its a fairly large single exhaust dressed in Chrome but single all the same. Its the new low emission 1.6TDI and not sure if that makes a difference. :confused:

Nope. Its just the Sportback S-Line. I have to admit, I did think the single exhaust was linked to the new low emission engine. Mine does have stop / start on it too.

I dont think mine has the start stop feature :(

My spec 'just checked the paper work again'.

March 2010
2.0 tdi - s line - black edition - 140 - Ibis white
single exhaust 'very good size though' - low emissions - average 64.2mpg 'this is more than other black editions; they were around 55mpg

Haha, what have I started with all this exhaust chat?! Just looking through the car config on audi.co.uk and in terms od diesels it looks like the 170 is the only one that still has the double exhaust... That doesn't bother me as long as it's right since that's what I've bought!

And ^ although it's what you do with it that counts, they still look **** hot. :ninja:
 
Nice car. Looks great in white.

I test drove a brand new 140 BE at Crewe Audi a couple of weeks ago and it also had just one tailpipe. The salesman told me it applied to all 2010 140 models with the 115g/km engine..

I've subsequently ordered one in black, although I REALLY wanted white too (company car policy restricts colours to either black or silver!).

I was disappointed with the performance of the new 140 CR engine, but then it did only have 1 mile on the clock. Do they free up significantly? The tax benefit meant the 170 just wasn't a viable option for me....
 
I was in Macclesfield Audi at the weekend, they got a few A3 Black Editions in, not sold but new unregistered if you want a good deal! I was offered minimum 10% off. Back to the exhaust question, some had single and some had double. The sales guy said that in future ALL will come with one exhaust, even the big stuff! I prefer two of course...:cool:
 
I cant say that the single exhaust bothers me. If I was buying an s3 then I would expect a twin exhaust. The £35 road tax makes me smile :)

I had an update from Audi yesterday. They are getting another BE in on Friday - exactly the same as the one ive purchased. They asked me if I would prefer this as its not been in a showroom, touched or driven - of course :)
 
Deano, If you take the one thats been driven maybe you could get some extra discount or more freebies chucked in.....

I was surprised at the quote of 25th May (plus a week for PDI/delivery)
