Anyone used the Castrol Edge 5W-30 fully synthetic oil? Any complaints/recomendations?

I see Halfrauds also do an Audi/Vw specific 5W-30 oil which is pretty much as expensive. Anyone have the balls to use that?:unsure:

The Edge stuff is what they supplied as my 1 litre top up bottle from new ( 5w-30 ).

Homebase were doing it for £8 a while back but I think they have stopped stocking it.

I guess if it meets the VW spec the Halfords stuff should be ok.
 
Yeah, halfords specifically says that their brand meets the spec. Now it is only €5 in the difference, but just wondering is there any point in buying the more expensive Castrol, when the halfords oil comes with an extra litre of oil (and a 30-piece screwdriver set, while stocks last, terms and conditions apply!)
