Black Edition

Anyone selling their BE wheels? Or know of some paint which matches quite well?

I kerbed 2 of mine, had them "smart" repaired i.e. cosmetic repair, not full repair, and it's chipping away on the one alloy. The repair is not noticable, afterall it's a wheel, but I can see where it's chipping and it needs sorting to protect the alloy. I don't really want to pay again for the repair, rather just touch it up myself.

I've had the same problem - large wheels are a pain, add a different colour to the mix and its a nightmare.

I used a BMW touch up colour from Halfords, can't remember the exact colour but it was the closest match I could find.

These wheels really don't look good curbed at all!

95% certain to get BBS CK's. Was dead set on the anthracite ones, but am now thinking silver .... not an easy decision! Will probably be 18" ones, as the roads here in Guernsey are shockingly bad.

Nope, but I will be hand delivering them free of charge to the UK, so not a major issue.

I ordered my 1.8 black edition in Nov - been told to expect delivery in early March.

I'm excited now thinking about it!

Is Audi's protection pack for both inside and paintwork worth it?
 
Hi Guys,
Im new to the forum, I placed an order for a sportback A3 Black Edition TDI back in october and its getting delivered on Thursday of this week. Cant wait.
Untill thursday im going to be driving around in my 2004 Civic type R.

What is everybodys opinion of the BE Sportback?
Are there any problems i should look out for?

Ive opted for Ibis White and the 170 bhp TDI engine, I think the only extra i went for was the USB connector as this is my new company car.
 
Welcome to the BE Thread Adam.

My company "hack" is a Misano Red 170 TDi Quattro Sportsback and so far Im happy with her. She seems to be loosening up nicely (was a bit down when I first got her as she seemed soooo sluggish) and in the snow she has performed nicely....

The BOSE is fantastic, just want this snow to go so I can finally get a coat of wax and polish on her!!

Still yet to get some photos up!
 
Well the car arrived as promised on thursday of last week despite all the snow.
First impression are that the car is absolutly awesome, so far i cant fault it.
I havnt really been able to give it a good ride out because of the terrible weather but so far so good.
One question i do have however is should there be a pocket on the front of both front seats or just the drivers seat?

Good choice of colour and engine, Im looking to order the same in the next week or so....

Have you gone for the manual? Let me know your thoughts on the 170bhp engine and how you find it?

Good to hear you have got your BE at last!

I have not had mine for long now but just ticked over the 10,000 miles and still loving it!

The only problem i am having is with the snow. i got stuck too many times, and was foursed to abandon it for a night with all BMW's and Merc's. i was not happy!

Just wondered if anyone else is having a hard time with the BE in the snow, was wondering if it was just down to the tyers and if it would be worth getting winter wheels, if anyone knows of any that would be great?

By pocket do you mean the under seat storage compartment? If so, yes only the drivers seat has it as standard.
 
My new ibis white 2.0tdi BE 140 arrived in our carpark last week.

Have noticed that it only has a single tailpipe unlike my current one which has two.:wtf:

For the gman, my A3 is crap in the snow, wide low profile tyres do not fare well in the snow.

As for your tailpipe, do you mean it has only one crome pipe or one pipe with a twin end? because mine is a twin eneded tailpipe?
 
No it only has one crome pipe, been told its only on 170hp tdi and 2.0T by one of the salesmen. They have changed the shape of the crome on the gear knob too. Although that looks ok.

Are you taking this one to P Torque again?

Must be one of the greatest excuse for a miltek. Post a picture up as intrigued to what the single pipe looks like? without being disrespectful, is it the same as the 1.6? :wtf:

So, one of the very few "bug bears" Ive had with the BE Sportsback has been the single door unlock which seriously has been doing my nut in.

Just been getting a sarnie at lunch time and noticed a few lads with Basingstoke Audi Coats on - so I asked them, can you boys reprograme via the VAG COM to get all doors unlocked. They said they get asked this daily and that if I had read the manual fully Id know that I can change it via the on-dash menu. I said I thought I had gone through all of that but he said you have to select the last option arrow and there is a whole new world.....

So, back to the office....straight into the car and BINGO! Ive found a whole new world........

Lights, windows, DOORS, oh my oh my how did a geek like me miss this?!?!?!?

There isnt one to speak of, have been asked by a few body shops. Called Audi parts tech and they just said they will have to colour match it. Think I just touched mine in with some of the Audi dark grey colours. Cant remember the exact colour now.

You know, i got my black BE based on your pictures all those months ago and i asked myself the same question when i was given the opertunity to choose again... went with Ibis.

Perfect for the black edition!

I get my new Ibis BE on Tuesday!

Nice to be someone's inspiration! Why the quick change to the Ibis white one?

I still love my car, and in a month or so's time when I've made a few changes to it I'll love it twice as much!

I'm undecided about the Open Sky roof though. Sometimes I look at pictures of the car and think it looks nice but then I think is it worth the money? Anyone got any comments on it, is it worth it??

Also I don't think I've seen any pictures of the S3 BE, anyone found any yet?
