S3 conversion

I know that if you go from a double grill model to a single grill you have to change the bonnet and brackets etc, but what if i'm going from a 2007 s line to an S3 bumper?

Do i need to change anything?
 
It's a forum, so other people can search for this valuable information that i have no released to every other member :)

I would leave the badges off

Only reason i want to do it is because i love the S3 bumper

Got one sitting in my garage waiting to be prepped and sprayed :D

Can just trim the reinforcement bar by the way, don't need a new one
 
I've been looking into this, I think you need to change the grill as well, hopefully N8 can confirm.

You can stick the S-Line grill on, but it leaves a small gap at the bottom apparently

Might as well get the S3 grill :s3addict:
 
You need S3 grille yes. I put the S3 bumper on my car, not long after I got it. Mainly because I prefer the look of the S3 front end to the S-Line. I feel the side skirts are needed as the side looks sucked in without them, and I've just put the S3 Sportback valance on, so without even intending to do it, my car has gone down the look a likey route! Although I have no S3 badges anywhere in sight.......
 
I will just make my car badgeless i think, apart from the S-Line steering wheel badge

And the S3 aluminium sills, not a lot you can do about them

Sounds like me too though I settled for the sline rear defuser (S3 sills still sitting in lockup LOL). Still got S3 badge on front grill :blush: as putting an s-line is only my 2nd option. I'm waiting for somebody to break their front S3 grill so I can steal one of the verticle slats and trim to length for covering the cutout on mine LOL
 
Dont forget, you dont need a new reinforcement bar when the original can just be trimmed 10 mm
