hi all ive got an audi a3 1.6 se on a 52 reg. my problem is on my dash board this sign has come up reading ESP, can anyone tell me what it stands for and what it means. any help would be appreciated as when i bought the car i didnt get a car manuel with it thanks.

Yup thats the skid control system.
If it comes up on the dash without you switching it off then theres probably a problem with the system and it may not be working properly.
I'm sure the manual will say some 5h!t like "drive carefully to your local Audi dealer to have the system inspected..."

Most peop-le have it turned it off, if your not a confident driver and dont know limits then leave it on. what it does is, it cuts out power when it detects certains wheels starting to spin faster ( i think) ie going around round abouts and corners youll notice you cant use full power during turns.
Just try and turn the whole lot off, as said itd be really hard to activate the esp in a 1.6, in the 1.6 306 i had i could sometimes get a bit of movement with that. but thats lighter.
