Here are the results of my first dyno session, and from the rolling road day on saturday. Im sure people aer going to say that the figures are b*llocks, but i know its ****** quick, and its much quicker than a chipped S3 and on par with an RS4! Who cares about figures!

Here are the old plots - 15/09/2004

power - BHP

Thanks dude.

Just to note, the frist plots were with a BIG boost leak! hence the seriously loud whistle everyone who attended Audi-driver at castle combe heard!

Boll**ks to wot other people think mate. I'd be well proud of that curve, or straight line lol

Heres the engine spec:

<ul type="square"> [*]AGU 1.8T (Cable throttle, large port head) [*]IHI VF-34 roller bearing turbo [*]Jabba Sport Cast Exhaust Manifold [*]AmD Technik FULLY custom remap [*]Bosch 'Green Top' 440CC Injectors [*]4bar FPR [*]TT MAF housing [*]Custom JBR Intake to turbo [*]Custom JBR Front Mounted intercooler [*]Taipan CAI [/list]

Thats it for the time being. Next year, i shall be rebuilding the engine with JE Forged low comp pistons (9.0:1), Eurospec con rods, water injection (This shall be happening shortly!), plus anything else that i can get uprated (crank, valves, cams .etc) full remap for new mods and hopefully reach around the 370bhp mark... At this point i shall stop!

Cheers

Rich

They look great. Could you post a full spec of the motor? any internal mods and will you go any further? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jawdrop.gif

There just scared of the beast mate /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked2.gif

questions
1. What the lag like on your turbo, and what boost is it good for?
2. Whats the manifold like, you had any probs with the weight of it, the turbo etc causing cracks in it.

lol, no you wont!!! Your an addict my friend! There will ALWAYS be something that needs to be doing..... more bhp to be had!!!

Your a legend man.

Power to the A3's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dancing.gif

What's the dispute with the figures then? Seems reasonable to me with that specification.

They are reasonale for that specification... Just that some people tend not to believe it.

Rich

You've not posted what boost you are running ,thats probably why we can't make a more informed comment on the power.

Wow man, that all! Does the power come up so much because the charge air is much cooler at higher RPM due to the turbo being so mcuh more efficiant at shifting larger amounts of air?

Firstly, the turbo is MUCH bigger than a K04 and HUGE in comparison to a K03! Secondly, its alot more free revving, thirdly its working less hard to create the power so charge air temp is cooler, them ive got 440cc injectors running at 4bar, a 3" downpipe (might even be a bit bigger than that!) sports cat, .etc... Remember also that the AGU 1.8T has a large port head. This is much better at flowing the air through, therefore lower boost is needed to get the same amount of air into the engine.

Sorry mate..didnt see this reply.

1) Boost peaks at around 3500rpm... Its at that point you ge flung back in the seat at rocket towards the horizon. just ask Steph, MingbluS3, PeteTDI... and that was with 4 of us in the car! Boost peaks at 1.2bar i believe!
2)Its a cast manifold which is HUGE in comparison to the standard piece of sh!te! Its designed to be used with the IHI so works VERY well!

Rich

Yep confirmed no real turbo lag and you really feel pulled back on the seat /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Rich,

Those are some awesome figures mate.. Must go llike a rocket...
What do you think your 0-60 and 0-100 times are now with that kind of power??

Keep up the good work.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

I have absolutely no idea... Really hard to tell. At the moment, 0-60 wont be great as you cant use first gear, so the figure really are representative of alot. If it were in gear acceleration you were measuring, then it would be very quick indeed. Could do with doing some tests really.

Pretty much always the case! I reckon your would have still been hot too Rich which would make a difference

With regards to the open road allowing for much better performance, would it not be MUCH better to have your car custom mapped whilest driving it out on, say a motorway rather than on a rr??

Surely the conditions would allow for a much more accurate map?

I reckon it's making 300bhp on a decent rr,which is still alot of power!!!

That is a really impressive figure for 1.2 bar.

I take it this would have cost loads of moola to get to?

since I am relatively new to the S/A3 can you advise on break on how much would need to be spent to get upto a certain bhp / torque figure?

ie 550 = +65 on a3 / +45 on s3
etc...

Many Thanks.
