Hi,my wifes 1.8t(non fly by wire) has developed the annoying intermitant non start issue.
If the barrel/coil req renewal does the coil need programming to the key or is it just the transceiver?And do audi supply it built to my key number?

If the wires req sorting which wires are they and any pics would be superb.

If its an immo problem the immo light on the dash board will flash, and the car will usually start then die, rather than just not start at all.

If you replace the pickup coil, you wont need to replace anything else or recode anything, the coil is just an antenna.

Just bought the pickup but it comes as a new barrel with keys.is there a way of getting around this or is it the wrong part.

Does the pickup come off the barrel?

If not it might be possible to transfer the barrel internals from the old one into the new one, or move the transponder chip from your old key into the new key.

I'm surprised if they were giving you a new barrel they didnt ask for the old key code so they could make the barrel up to fit the old key
 
Hi,the pickup is attached to the barrel at the vfront.it can't be removed, but how do the chips come out.
 
You can remove the reader coil from the new barrel and fit this to your car. The reader coil part needs to be carefully removed using say a small slide hammer or puller.

Saves a load of time changing barrels etc.
