No real plans, thinking of "de-chroming" the grill surround, other than that, will be keeping it as it is. Hoping to get it remapped soon, miltek etc.

Cheers:icon_thumright:

Lovely example matt, i really love that colour, if i could afford it i'd have my cab vinyl wrapped in it :)

i reckon the grill in pjm's link has got to be done mate :icon_thumright:

Cheers.. never seen on of those grills before!
Think i'm gonna have to invest. It did have a LCR Splitter on the front, but had an incident with a fox so need to put that one back on.
Hoping to go get a HID Kit, what bulbs do i need? Is it H7?

And yeah.. I think its one of the best colours, aside from the Red ones - forgot what its called!

Loving the car any pictures of the inside? I also do like the Votex kit.

No pics of the inside, was abit messy when i took these pics. Its got the Alu "fishscale" inlays, and Grey Sline leather which according to the guy i bought it off is apparently very desirable.

Just ordered one of those grills, should be here by the end of the week, I'll put up a couple pics when ive got it!

Nice car - good colour and all looks pretty... get some inside pics too!

That Votex kit really was a great stand-in until Audi coudl get their act together and start producing the S-Line stuff...

On that note, RE:"the leather": it's not the S-line version... unless he's retro-fitted it; the car is a 2001 and all S-line badges / trim would have to be fitted post 2003 (e.g. the sides and the rear one where it should say "quattro")....

I see, i bought it as it was.. and i'm not totally clued up about what model, trim levels etc came in what year. All looks OEM to me!
Although the DTM badge at the back obviously isnt..

I prefer the Votex kit compared with the S Line, but i suppose i am abit biased!

Lovely colour!
Having a Splitter on the votex is asking to be ripped off as you know yourself its low on a sport model.
Get the Turbo back Miltek + remap...you'll love it!:aggressive:

Definitely go for a mesh grille, I was all set to suggest that looking at the pics, but was beaten to it!

H7 bulbs yes ;)

im definately having a votex kit when i can afford it all i can afford at the moment is the grill :)
nice car mate:thumbsup:

does all look pretty OEM... but just on the sportier, slicker side of OEM... only a purist would be able to pick holes in it (same thing with mine - S-Line door blades and front and rear skirts, but brake claipers and side-skirts are stock and there's no S-Line door sills or rear window trim)...

I prefer the Votex or honeycombed S-Line, not the standard "bullet" S-line foglight grills that are more popular now... but then I'm also biased!

Audimatt - top motor! :icon_thumright: It was a car like yours that first got me interested in Audi's - before the B6 Saloon i'd not really had much time for anything 4-ringed (apart from the BTCC cars anyway!). But there's just something about a saloon with the Votex that gets me going - oo-err Missus! :hubbahubba: Don't change it too much!!

Richard

Very sweet motor, and i agree the honeycomb grill could look very nice, i got one on mine, took a little bit of work to get the badge to sit properly but looks great when on. Where abouts in the country are you ?

Cheers for all your comments! Got the grill on now, at first i didnt like it but it's growing on me, looks different...No pics yet!

Was thinkin of maybe getting the wheels done anthracite? Anyone fancy doing a photoshop? Do you think it would look good...

Cheers

That 35mm dro looks nice although tell me would spacers push the wheels out to be flush with the arches, loving the look though will you be posting pictures once your use to the new grill.....

looks sweet bud, what size are the rims, 18s or 19s?

very very nice, think thats the GmbH kit?

ras - pretty sure that's not the OEM S-line aka "Quattro GMBH" kit, looks like Votex to me...

and i'm guessing the rims are 18's....

Agreed. The matching upper and lower grilles look perfect

yep me too perfect match, is your motor lowered?

Yeah, i've seen a couple with the grill and no Votex, and it just looks weird imo.

RasA4, yeah it's lowered, not sure on the set up because it was lowered before i bought it. Too low sometimes, multi story carparks are a nightmare, same with speedbumps. Wish it wasn't lowered sometimes, but oh well.

I want to "joey" mod the headlights. Is it hard to do ?!

cheers

The joey mod is fiddly at first (especially on your first attempt) but gets easier. You just got to make sure you have patients (plenty of them too) and allow atleast 5hrs minimum from start to finish. I find the hardest part is opening the the lights because you have to be really careful not to snap anything...

I followed this on my first attempt.

It looks hard but trust me, once you get going it gets alot easier...

audimatt - one comment most people have about the Joey mod is that they lose a LOT of headlight intensity and I can see you definitely don't have factory Xenons, so if you haven't retro-fitted HID's already, then seriously consider it before getting it Joey-modded....

I thought the joey mod was only blacking out the chrome in the lights thats for cosmetic purposes only
so how is this going to make your dip light any worse
i thought it would be more of an advantage to black the cosmetic chrome as it would stop the reflection of scattered light you get off the bottom chromed part of the light towards the front as this does reflect light especially with HIDs fitted .

Ive not heard of anyone complaining of losing any light after a joey mod and if you did lose any light then it aint going to be a drastic lost and defo wont be 'a LOT' - Yes if you paint the reflectors then you are going to lose light, you may aswell put a candle stick inside your lamp!

If ive lost any Intensity then I havnt noticed at all. Get it done matt, it'll suit your front end to a tee!
Joey Mod is cosmetic.:o.k:

Wasnt sure about the honeycombe grill until i saw it next to the Votex lower grill/bumper.

So is the votex front end an entire bumper mod, or just the grille bits? Where are they available from? Now the two are together, they really do look pukka...

... and what lowering kit is on there audi mat?

what is regarded as the best lowering set up? H&R? Bilstein?
