2001 S3 Facelift 225.

Heated and electric Alcantara... hell you know the spec of an S3, + Milltek full exhaust, free flow cat and remap.
I don't like the wheels though so they are for sale, PM offers and see my other thread. Thanks

Very nice mate! :) I love that colour. That was my first realistic choice but couldn't get one in that colour. (Denim Blue is very very rare.)

PM sent about the alloys too! :)

I should clarify, its not that i don't like the look of them as they look great, but i don't like the anthracite. I prefer shiny things!
Yes i love the car, my father in law has a Revo'd 2008 one and he can't pass me, it is great. Can't wait to get it on the rollers as his is 318bhp!

Looks nice. I agree though, not a fan of those wheels. They look fine on the latest RS4 in 19inch but not right on an S3!
 
You've done well there. It does look to be a lovely example. The paintwork looks absolutley pristine in those shots - nice.

One side note, I see you still have the old rear wiper arm; as you have retro fitted the Aero Wipers you may as well do the same to the rear; you can get a Polo Aero Wiper arm and blade from a scrappy for @ £10
 
Car looks great mate. My friend got that colour S3 and it looks soo good when the sun shines on it! Bet your happy you waited for the right one to come up. What alloys you after now? I think the alloys go with the car very well. Any more plans for the car? Looks very clean and tidy and i like the inside aswell! How i do like the 8L S3 i've seen a few by me but niot all of them are looked after and look like the painted faded and just look bad!

Thanks i intend to! As for the rear wiper that is on the list. Mod wise i am happy, it is more than fast and does everything it needs to including being a good 10mpg better than my scooby was!
I am going for these i think, a good compromise between what i want and what is easy to clean plus they weigh in 19kg with tyres!

MINT !!! I know how you feel. I waited for my Nogster for a good few months and was so worth it.

Any plans or everything already done for you.
 
Just little things really. I have ordered the Polo rear wiper, and i am fitting the ambient lighting mod today. Also just waiting for the paperwork for my S3 number plate. Otherwise i just have to finish polishing it, but it is too hot again today.

Where did you order your polo rear arm from and does your front wiper blades fit flush on your window as I have seen a few and they dont.

What is the ambient lighting mod exactly.
 
The wiper arm off eBay £20, the wiper do fit flush except the very last part of the passenger side at the end of the sweep as it returns to the off position.
The ambient lighting mod is the installation of the 2 red leds that light up the gear stick and hand brake in all new VW and Audi cars just above the rear view mirror. All the wiring is there you just need the unit.

Ok thanks for the info. I think all the aero wipers must be like that on a S3 as I aint seen one that fits flush on da passenger side, me being picky lol.

I already got the ambient lighting mod I think as I already have the red lights below the cigeratte holder. I might change mine from red though, maybe a bright white bluey colour.
 
There standard but these ones are in the roof and light up the handbrake areas and did not start appearing as standard in VW/Audi's till about 05-06 time? Well worth, it is ace at night. Used to have it in MK5 Golf.
 
why not buy the wiper arm, cap and blade from VW for £23 all in??? hate these ebay ripoffs.....

nice car there mate.....incidently why have you waited years for this particular one? it isnt the rarest colour/spec.....

yeah i agree about the wheels, new shape stuff should stay on the new shapes

Maybe the wheels would look better with some spacers...Not sure about the blue calipers but never been one for colour coded calipers.

Nice example though.
 
I don't like the calipers either, they were already done. It will have some red Brembo ones eventually!

Really, didnt know you could get everything from VW for that price. Will this make them sit flush with the window.

I recently painted mine yellow, looks really good and actually makes the brakes and calipers look bit bigger lol.
 
nattie you'll find that for some things the dealers will charge far less than these rip off merchants on ebay..... LCR splitter on ebay goes for £50 ish, dealers sell em @ £20.... the rear wiper for a Polo along with cap and Touran blade cost me £23 retail from VW Sheff mate
 
Exactly everyone should check the dealer first!

For reference I got my LCR Splitter for £14 I think and the ambient lighting kit for £7 i think. In fact the cigarette light cost more! Was a while ago though but people do get ripped off from E-Bay.

Well my wipers are getting pretty bad recently, so will head down to VW for my aero setup.

Just so you know i have not gone for the whole VW setup, Bosch now do aero wiper that it onto normal blades which is what i have done. Cheaper to start and replacements are cheaper.
