Hi evryone, ive got myself some 19x9 wheels to go on my a3 and im not too sure if they will fit in the arches, ive done some calculation and in theory they should fit.

If they didn't could i fit s3 arches to add some space?

Thanks
Mike

Depends on the offset, you may find you need to space them just to keep them away from the suspension components let alone the arches!!

The et of the wheels are 60, im putting 20mm adapters on the front and 30mm on the back, i used a offset calculator of wheelwhores forum to calculate the amount that the wheel protrudes.

Just FYI Mike, S3 front arches also need the S3 sideskirts to work from reading other threads in the past, plus the rear wings are also wider on an S3 also. I'm sure with the correct tyres and the correct offset, the rears should be fine, as they are quite roomy back there, but the fronts will stick out('poke' in scene terms) at 9" wide.

Also, ET60 with 20mm spacers/adaptors will make them ET40, I'd be looking at nearer ET30 for the fronts, my S3 is running 8'5's all round and it was catching the inside of the inner arches @ET35 on full lock, so I spaced them out by 5mm to ET30, and all is well.

What wheels are you planning? :)

Well i was going to pull the rear arches anyway, but i was going to get the front arches modified slightly so i dont have to get s3 side skirts.

The wheels ive got are off a vw touareg, got a cheap set so ive kinda build the car round them. ive got alot of bodywork ideas for the a3, and im toying with the idea of subtle wide arches.

This site is rapidly becoming a target for Barryboys...............

isnt the vw touareg stud pattern 5x130 or summat? where the S3 is 5x100

The wheels i got are from the 2.5 tdi and the stud pattern is 5/120, ive already got H&R adapters.
