Theres a button on the drivers side next to the door and next to the seat... like a pic of a car with lines going through it, only just noticed it

What is it??

At the bottom right of the drivers side door? that is to turn the alarm off when, say, you leave a dog in the car and don't want it to go off.

Now you tell, kept leaving the windows down last week without the car alarm on and it kept going off, did my nut in.

Was thinkin it might have something 2 do with the alarm but didnt wanna go pressing it incase it started goin off or something lol

just to high jack the thread, is ther any kind of indication if that feature is turned off or on? or is it just a case of press it and guess if the internal sensors are on or not? mucho thanks

not tried it myself, but i imagine it would either light up or go dull..try and let us know what happens..if the car blows up, it's your fault though... ;-)

If i try it and it does blow up i wont be able 2 tell u sorry..... think u should try it:laugh:

i just tried, ****** hell i wasn't expecting that...

Its to turn the internal sensors off when the alarm is on, you can tell if its on or off, by a very tiny little light on it, which you will probably have to cover with your hand to check.

Also resets itself upon unlocking/next alarm use IIRC & there are 2 buttons, one is as already stated for the internal ultrasonics & the other is to disable the tilt sensor for say towing.

Ive only seen one button, where is the other one???

There were 2 I'm sure of it on my car, both in same place, one over top of other.

Ive only got one button in mine, was the same in my A4 as well...

Are you sure dude, I thinks someone has been eating too many cakes ;)

Lol, :rtfm:

Haven't tried disabling mine, but iirc from the manual, the lights on the door lock knobs flash rapidly for the first few seconds after locking to indicate the motion sensor is active. I guess if you turn it off they'll flash slowly from the start.

Should be easier than cupping your hand over a dim light, tho i'm sure mine's light will be quite clear as i'm missing the actual button over the switch :ermm:
