thanks in advance.

Cheers James, thought it was but keep looking at different S4's (could be me:uhm:) but there seemed to be two different types of bumper on them thar S4's.
Saw one described as a GMBH kit?

In addition to the S-Line front you have posted, there is the normal front (like mine)

The the Votex (GMBH) front (just grabbed off google images)

And then the S4 front

The S-Line kit and the GMBH kit are the same :icon_thumright:

Are they? Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think the GMBH (Votex) kit has a much deeper front to it than the S-Line - look around the fog light grilles etc.....

I thought GMBH and Sline is the Same name kit and VOTEX is the different Kit!

Think thats what 1210Tech meant James

Ok I was wrong then :slapped:

So S-line is also known as GMBH and they are the same - and the Votex kit is different altogether?

Okay, here comes another one of long and very "knowledgeable" rambles that doesn't actually answer the question, but since I spent about 2-3 hours hunting around for this one day, I feel duty bound to share what I found...

GmbH = a German definition of a company, like "Ltd" as in "Limited Liability company".... so sometimes the kits are discribed as "by Votex GMBH" or even "by Hofele GMBH".... and somewhere along the line people seem to have tagged the official S-Line AND Votex kits with this name.... grrr....

The most likely reason for this is that the official Audi re-styling arm is called "quattro GmbH" and these are the guys who are responsible for the styling on the S and RS series cars... and this was the name for the aftermarket body kits that they produced, before all the body kits for non S/RS cars were re-badged S-Line (usually denoted with a "2K3" suffix on the part number) in 2003.

Until this time there was also the ABT kit.... semi-official as they were Audi-partners for the DTM body kits and DTM-"inspired" bodykits for regular cars, but they also fizzled out with the advent of S-Line styling...

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.... I'll be the first to admit that HAS happened before!!

So we were both right? ;)

Calling it GmbH is almost guaranteed not to be wrong, since it's mostly German kit, but it is kinda ambiguous....

I'm worse.... not only do I research that stupid stuff, I either remember it or file the links away in my "Audi" folder.... v bad mefinks!

2 weeks and i'll post the pics of a proper Audi OEM S-Line kit ;)

well what ever bumper is in the first pic (silver car) i want one
how much and where is the best place.

J7....erm... maybe... I had half the bits 2 months ago... and then realised how much the spray and remaining bits were gonna cost and now I'm just getting all done is one big supermarket-sweep of OEM parts and professional fitting....

paul 20V.... that's the Audi OEM S-Line look (pics to follow in "2 weeks")...I've got enoughinfo on that to sink yyer brain! Before we go down that route: can I throw one more option in the "blender".... definitely worth thinking about if the rest of the body parts are colour coded and it's just the front that needs doing:

I've got all the part numbers for the Audi stuff you need and the contacts for various ways of getting it sprayed up and fitted (although if you've got contacs in that field, you can save a fortune!!).

hi
its only the front i want
the rest of the lower panels have already been sprayed
im happy enough with the standard oem look of the rest just want a bit of something on the front instaed of the standard swept underneath look,
fitting and spraying the parts aint a problem
i have a source for that just need something for the front to give it that lip and slightly lower stance
any info greatfully recieved
Thanks PAUL.

LostBok - I know exactly where you coming from, thats why its took just as long for me to source the Original Otty kit.Too many fakes about its crazy. Im still not convinced on the one I got in the end...

Paul - Keep you eyes on Ebay, they sometimes have one pop up now and again and its OEM. QuattroJames (our Ebay Rep ;)) will notify you once one pops up. He's responsible for a few purchases on here

:laugh:thanks for replies guys sorta summed up my confusion there.
Lostbok will appreciate the info & pics on the S4 front:icon_thumright:although you've
thrown me a curve ball with Hofele front:keule::laugh:

the kit that is fitted to my car is an OEM S-Line kit that I bought from audi-accessories.co.uk when they were still trading.

when it turned up it had contents lists of all the different part numbers and was addressed 'AUDI AG, D-85045 Ingolstadt' telling me that it came direct from the factory, but both pages are in German so a bit difficult to understand but I have scanned them so if anyone wants to translate them feel free

the kit contained:

Upper front bumber
Lower front skirt
Foglight grills
Lower centre grill
Lower rear skirt
Door flares
Boot spoiler
S-Line kick plates
S-Line door badges

my car transformed from this

tbh - after much deliberation on the topic, I decided that I prefer the slightly more subtle OEM S-Line to the RS4 / Hofele look (unless it is ON an RS4!).... but I know a lot of people really like them - hence why I threw that spanner in the works :)

Unless you're actually putting >400bhp, an RS bodykit is likely to get smirks rather than grins... and I'm pretty sure that 430Nm doesn't count ;)

I never had 99% positive with my Red one and dont regret it at all, the other 1% could take a run and Jump - Ill do it again alllll day Long :salute:.
Like you say Some prefer OEM and some prefer your "Spanners" - everyone knows what I prefer hence why I always do what I do.

I just look at Docurlys RS4 conversion on his "1.8T" and I just think that was one of the best conversions done, looked the dogs dangly bits - Defo didnt make me Smirk!!!

At the end of the day an Audi A4 B6 looks a great Motor whatever kit you add to it - Ive always beena Fan of Bubs and to this day havnt seen an Avant that stands out more than is to this day - Perhaps its the colour!! providing its not cheap nasty ***** fibre crap (or a Rattle snake Snide) and its been fitted 'properly' - the Bulkiness of the B6 is spot on and I wouldnt be put off doing the B7 Rs4 conversion either, mega doe but like its been said, if its affordable to yourself then what the rest of us say means Pooh - Go for it I say.

Im with the Yanks on this one :)

okay - I stand corrected... the Doc's conversion gets the full "dog's danglies" :rockwoot:rating....

I guess some of the decent petrol cars can get away with it and it should be made pretty much mandatory on the 1.8T Quattro Sports.... I was just opining from my own (TDI) point of view.... I know it's just my opinion, but an oil-burner with even the best RS4 kit in the world seems a bit silly.

And I think that Votex kit you (J7) had on the old Red Devil was a very nice, subtle middle ground of a bit beefeier than an S-Line, but without going as far as the RS4's "gills"...

Yeah I have to agree, looks weird in a way as with that kit your used to seeing the full grill!Quite odd looking - But of course thats my opinion.

Lostbok - The votex is the one I have on the Blue one (hopefully off next weekend) the red one was the Original Reiger Kit (still a nice kit but been cloned too many times with these cheap Ebay copies)

that black avant needs to have the slatted lower grill to match the top one (or replace the top grill with a honeycombed one).... I prefer the "big grill" look with the top and bottom grills both slatted, but it's not true to the RS bumper that it's in, so would probably look more natural with the proper RS honeycomb top and bottom...

lostbok, is there an echo in here, is there an echo in here? lol! :undwech::laugh:

yes - point taken: I was re-stating what you'd said already - but adding the flip-side too: I think I prefer the slatted grills up the middle and the honey comb ones for the fogs only...
edit: as per the silver "BUB" avant... in the 1st post...
