Have read various threads about the various benefits of the 2.0TFSI v 2.0TDI v 3.2V6 with interest. I run a 2004 3.2 V6 Sport S-Line with DSG its so creamily smoothly rapid and understated it suits me down to the ground. PLUS it costs 10p per mile to run - on LPG! No detectable difference between running on petrol or LPG although range is limited to 225-250 miles because of limited LPG tank size.
Different class to worthy but dull diesels!:racer:

How much was the conversion? Any pics and links for others who may be interested? Not me btw, I don't give a carp how much fuel coats, I'll never dilute it below 97ron ;)

Wow, LPG on 3.2? Didn't think that was possible...

I bought a 1.6 from Audi and they installed it there for me at the shop...

The price was about 2000€ extra, but the price of a mile is half the price of petrol. Absolutly no differences can be noticed while driving, no power loss...

What's the price of LPG up there in GB? Here its's about 2 pounds per gallon...

LPG is about 50p/litre atm, so about half the price of super unleaded.

I'd be tempted to get mine done but you can't run FSI engines on LPG without melting the injectors. :(

My A3 was converted at a cost of £1,750 + VAT by Dual Fuel in Durham at 23k miles. I bought it on 53k and have since done another 20k with absolutely nothing required. LPG has a higher octane rating than petrol burns hotter and leavers a cleaner engine. As far as I understand if a car runs on petrol then it can run on LPG, I think most of the problems people get with LPG is down to thge system used and the proficiency of the installer.
I will certainly get my next car done - quite fancy an A4 Cabriolet!

Not correct, LPG cannot be installed on FSI engines because it burns hotter and then melts something... :)

What I heard is a combination of LPG/Petrol is possible on FSI engines, but then on 1 third of LPG is used and 2 thirds of petrol. That is neccesary to keep the temp down...

But then you need to do some serious mileage for that to pay off...

That's interesting - a work colleague of mine runs a LPG'd 2006 Skoda Octavia VRs with the VAG 2.0TFSI engine for 40k miles without any issues about melting something!;)
Is the melting issue something you heard or something you experienced?
