You've got that the wrong way round. 45mm offset means that they sit in towards the centre of the car rather than stick out more. Wheels that stick out more have a low ET (such as the Mk1 RS4 wheels which were designed to fill the arches on the Mk1 RS4 -they had an ET of something like 22).
I tried a set of 45mm offset OZ's that were designed for a Subaru. They fouled the suspension struts. They can fit, but you will need 10mm spacers to reduce the offset back to 35mm which is what you'd have with a set of O/E Audi wheels.
I've been considering buying a set of ET45 alloys for a while but there 5 x 112 so it means i'd have to shell out for hubcentric spacers to change the pcd from 5x 100 - 5 x 112. I think these start at arond 10 or 20 mm spacers/ Could you PM to tell me if your alloys sit flush with the front and rear arches of the S3 after you fit your spacers and wheels. This would sway me towards buying the alloys in the end. Thanks and hope your pleased with your end result. Steve
I will be buying the wheels ans spacers in about 2 weeks hopefully, and yeah ill elt you know, only thing is I ahve an A31.8T not an S3.
If that makes a difference? isnt the S3 arches wider?
