Letter to the Honcho

L6on if i was you, i would ask for a buy back due to all the problems or replace the car for a new one!! Im sure if the car is new and you have more than three problems with the car you are intitled to a buy back.

Haha, do you really think Audi would want to buy back that car?? Or are they legally bound? If so then please do enlighten us!

Hmm, im gonna check this VAGOC out. Cant hurt to join up :)

And brand new buckets in the end ;)

I thought the old ones went off to a coachfitter ..... No ?
Either way he was a happy chappy in the end and just goes to show that a polite complaint to the right person yields results. Ranting and raving doesn't (often).

Nope - new seats in the end:

Conclusion covered here:

http://www.vagoc.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=218

Though, as you can see it took months and a load of effort to sort out through Audi UK - which is a shame on such a pricey option :(

Were the new seats any better though? A lot of the problem is the design of them as they are very flexible.

Think he went on a diet.... nah, just kidding, I've not heard him complain about them anymore TBH....

Wortgh noting, he flagged it with his dealer from the word go.... so if you're seeing issues worth mentioning now?

yeah that's a good result mate , The guy who use to own my car had the same problem ,Dandle on here although he had no joy, bet you was over the moon getting your new seats and rightly so .....

would anyone be able to tell me the address so contact jeremy hicks?

A mate of mine has an a4, 20k miles and its the 2.0tfsi.
He noticed an oil leak and they explained it was the vac pump, they got a new one, leaked, got a new and slightly different one, didnt fit on to timing chain cover, got new cover, fitted, leaked, now they say they want to fit a new fuel pump etc etc...... and so far my mate has been in to audi 11 times each with the same leak which they can not repair.

I told him id try to find jeremy hicks details as i hear he is the one to speak to. the service he is getting is spot on. the manager of audi camberley has given him his mobile number so he can contact him and they are going out of their way to help him, but i said it may be worth contacting him just to let him know what is going on and that its getting rediculas at moment.

cheers guys

Is that not a bit of a waste of Jeremys time. If the garage are already being helpful and doing all they can what is he going to do about it? there is nothing more he can do. Go to him when the garage refuse to help.

yea, but he has had over 100hrs in the garage, there helpful in terms of being nice, but they have not fixed the car, i was just thinking it may be a good idea to inform him about what is going on, he doesn't have to do anything but inform him of the situation, because id be peed off if my car was going in for the 11th time and audi still not knowing what is wrong. and my mate just keeps putting his car in and nothing seems to be getting done. at least if jeremy knows, then he may be able to push it on and get it sorted, or is he the wrong person to speak to regarding fixing the car?

or is he the wrong person to speak to regarding fixing the car?

He probably is the right person if the garage wont do anything but if they are trying all they can to fix it I dont see what else hes going to do. Its not like hes going to know the answer to the problem more than the garage who had it in so much. Unless you friend just wants to complain and see if they will do a deal on another vehicle for him or give him some sort of compensation.

Personally if the garage are as helpful as you said I would be talking to the warranty managaer about a new engine if theyve had it in so much and not fixed it, it sounds like he wants to resolve the problem. It might be worth going to another garage and see if they do anything different.

Maybe get him to ask the garage for Jeremy Hicks details directly.
They should be able to pass them on, it will force them to consider their next course of action and could result in Jeremy taking more appropriate action????
If the garage are already proving to be very helpful, just get him to explain to the guy at the garage that he wants to understand his options from the head honcho.

yea will do that, cheers for the help. i was just thinking about writing to jeremy hicks as its always good to explain to someone else what is going on, so then if something does go tits up, at least he is aware. will get him to speak to some other people.

thanks again

Contacting Jeremy Hicks should hopefully sort your problem matey! He sorted mine but I still have no faith in the garage...

...My bucket seat has come apart all down the side where it fits into the back bit if you get me :wtf:...will be taking the car into them soon, so be interesting to see how they deal with this!

Good luck with your problem, hope they sort it!

I have the same problem with mine, where the leather tucks around before the black backing, it can be pushed back in but soon comes back out and to be honest i would expect better from something that is a relativly expensive option,

I also have this problem.

I think I will point it out when I get it in to the dealer for the blistering paint problem on my mirrors.
