What was next on the list rich? New ARB's? Surely the spare 500 quid could be put to good use! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Well the extra means my credit card bill will be £500 less! which means very little going on it which is nice! NExt thing to sort out is traction control. Its installed but i need to get it all calibrated and suited to the characterisitcs of the car, then i think i will have to do the clutch, flywheel and LSD which will be a major cost, then concentrate on the suspension. I suspect it will be completed fully by spring next year... Then the next stage of engine work will start /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

hahahahahaha...Well i can guarantee i will get used to the power by then. at which time it will be time to add a bit more to it... Mind you the drivetrain will be needing some upgrading too.

Rich

It can be.
I'm a few weeks ahead of rich, and it's docile when you want it to be and oh my god fast the rest of the time. No issues with traction, Just a big grin. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The factory asr works very well with the lsd and extra power in first, and then once in second any ASR intervention stops.

And it's a company car and I do 25K a year including carting customers around. I usually get a 'what the **** is in this when I take pasangers that don't know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is this an everyday driver? can't be?

As JW says,

It can be, and it is! Altoough i do a daily total of 14 miles so aint all bad really. Also means i can get away with mileage limited insurance making a worthwhile saving!

Rich

Rich, the wait will be worth it mate, i also think next on your list should be an LSD as it is certainly worth the cash having driven JW's last weekend, much better turn in. We'll all have to take a trip to Bruntingthorpe for a blat with the cars when yours is done! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Ed,

Sounds like a good plan! Think the clutch will DEFINATELY be done soon. Should last me til early next year then i can sort out the LSD one time...

As for the wait, its certainly going to be worth it! Really cant wait! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/groovy.gif

Yeah clutch will probably be the weak link, especialy if you do a few days at the Pod!

I think i'll be using first gear with great respect until thats sorted. doubt i'll get to the pod again this year! raining way too much recently and is so frustrating up there when they clsoe it down for the slightest bit of moisture in the air!

Rich

True, that is annoying when that happens, must admit i prefer the track tbh. Few corners always make it a bit more entertaining!

Whoops, that was funny when you said ten minutes and about an hour later...!

Hows your Golf going have you finished the mapping?

running fine mate. no dtc's, and the fuelings now spot on. just need a bit more boost now (now up to 1.25bar). Don't want to push it any further until mitch is on the same continent. Mapping via email's all wel and good, but I don't want to push it too hard.

Fair enough mate, probably best to wait till he is back before really going for it. We'll have to do another comparison once it's done. Hopefully putting the diff in mine this weekend.

Awesome!

what kind of performance figures are you getting 0-60 etc

@ James M
performance figures? havent done any timed runs, but car is comparable to M-Coupe,E46 M3 or std RS4.

0-60 supposed to be 4.9 to 60

the car is proper quick

@ s8n

I'm loathe to strip such a highly developed and sorted car, also I no longer have most of the standard parts.I'm not sure just how interested you'd be in any of my parts, considering how A. they'd need to be shipped from Ireland to you,B. they'd be expensive C. You only took about 6 months to eventually buy brakes, god knows how long it would take you to make your mind up when presented with the parts list from my car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nope, its staying together for the moment,to be honest,my biggest problem with selling the car is getting people to believe the bhp and performance figures, once they get a run in the car they're converted, but getting them that far is a tough one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cars like mine generally take a while to sell over here, its a very small market.

mate if I had the cash I would have it off you in an instant!

How much you looking for by the way?

Do a search on the site for posts by me,full spec has been posted before.
Basically the car has MTM everything.....

With any luck tonight is the night! Im not going to hold my breath tho just in case there are any problems while doing the power runs.

WooHOO!!! its all looking good for tonight!!! Apparently they were (at 14:30) just welding the D/P in place, refitting the exhaust .etc. The map has been written so will be uploaded and testesd on the rollers.. The excitement is almost too much!

Bolts were not supplied with the D/P>turbo conection so they werent able to bolt it up... Monday appears to be the day im picking it up now... Not too happy to be honest... just dragging on and on and on.. Not AmD's fault i might add!

i will have a car.. sometime..maybe! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sorry to hear that mate, you sound just like me when it comes to waiting for stuff so I know how much it must be getting on your t1ts
