HI All

just had to post how pleased I am. Gareth and Co from Hazzydayz has retrofited DIS to my TDie Standard .. No DIS on factory.. Big job says some new dash needed.... NOT possible says dealer.

WRONGO

New Wiper Stalk and coding in VCDS.. 15 mins later Job done.

Am I happy, you betcha, full DIS

:hubbahubba::hubbahubba:

holy poop!!

how much did this cost and what did you have originally?

tell me tell me

cause I was a dork..... made a mistake and the dealer wouldn't amend the order

:)

That's a bit harsh they wouldn't change it for u. How long was that after you placed the order?

I've got DIS but no on-board computer so I just get the basics; no MPG display etc. Anyone know if I'd need a new cluster with the computer and stalk for my 2005 A3 to get the full functionality out of my current DIS? I'm located too far from Hazzydayz for them to do it if it is even possible.

Was 2 weeks after the order, said car had gone to build....

Gareth did me in Glasgow, Think he would do mate, all you have to do is ask :)

A dealer should be able to change any part of a factory order up until the actual production date in confirmed by Audi AG.

Still if you got it fitted for £200 that's only £5 more than the option price.

Personally I think their were telling 'porkies'. An order does not usually go to a confirmed production date for at least a month after the factory receives the order.

Surely the Drivers Information System is the onboard computer? I believe it may be a bit more complicated on the pre-facelift model, your car may be missing a few sensors that will give errors on the DIS.

LOL
:beerchug:

the white cluster was factory fitted...

just didnt think that all that was needed was a wiper stalk and VCDS

G

Ah now I get you, so it was already installed but you didnt have the stalk to flick through etc, thats very poor of audi tbh, they give you the new cluster but not the functions, WTF, thats a new one on me, TBH mate £200 for that seems steep, did that include the new stalk?

Your having some ****** good luck on that car tbh, 1st cutouts on handles are there & now you already have the cluster, does it have a hidden R8 engine under hood that just needs enabling, lol

Yep, it included the stalk and a full 2 year gtee.

no R8 engine but a big smile when it does over 700 miles on a tank of Diesel and only £35 road tax a year....

feck me, what are you driving miss daisy, 700 miles, seriously how you getting that?

Ive got the 1.9 TDie low emissions model driving over 100 miles a day, all motorway, dual, only get 11p per mile from my comany so needed something very efficient, and No I dont drive like a granny!!!

Didnt think it would hit the MPG but does, and its getting better as the engine loosens off.

I've got facelift but not latest 09 facelift. The manual refers to DIS and on-board computer as separate things.

My DIS is full height but only reports basic info such as open doors, low fuel, driving with the handbrake on (which I have done  although it was only slightly on  honest!), currently selected gear etc, but no MPG and average speed etc.

I too would have thought as this info is missing that it is missing the extra sensors and OBC electronics otherwise they would have included it, but then again this is Audi...

I think you can claim up to 40p/mile via your tax return. It certainly used to be the case that you could claim the difference between what your company paid you and HMRC's max rate of 40p. This was up to a max of 10,000 miles per year - after that it drops to someting like 11p/mile - but it's definately 40p for the first 10k so potentially you could claim £2900 back if you're doing 10k a year.

The rules may have changed a bit - I'm sure there's probably an accountant on here somewhere who'll help - if not just go to HMRC website where all the info is available.

Cheers

Paul

its the way my car sheme works, they claim the full amount from HMRC on my behalf but i get to have all miles as business miles and don tha ve to deduct any home to office mile.. Stange scheme I know but you have to work with what you have

You've been on that sangria again K
