I have a 2001 S3 "AMK" engine code (210bhp i think)

> What remap is recommended? I am based in WEST WALES (don’t want silly power 260-270 ish I was hoping for)

> Also Which aftermarket air filter is best? (panel type I believe? but which one)

> Im also a 'CHAV' who wants a slightly louder dump valve (I believe the Forge Recalculating is best for the engine, does it sound any different to standard though?)

All help is appreciated from this VAG novice!!!!!!!! :applaus:

The 1.8t VAG engines dont have a dump valve. Its a recirculating valve meaning that it is designed to divert air back into the engine. If you were to fit a dump valve instead, the ECU would wonder why its not getting the correct airflow and probably throw up a fault code. This is why they are not noisy in the first place. The only time you get that "Dump valve chatter" is when the diverter valve is knackered!! Mine did this and although some may thing it sounds good, you are probably losing alot of power and should be replaced.

Yeah, better build quality. You can also take it apart to clean it/service it yourself - can change springs in for different PSI should you remap I think. Better noise in my opinion but not loud like a dump valve that you spoke about before. Makes gear changes better for some unknown reason to me.

Cheers
