righty ho as some of you will know im in the market for some alloys/tyres.... theres been shed loads of tyre threads, just wanted to know the particular website most use for tyre supply only....

second question is based on the fact that my brake wear indicator has appeared, do the backs have wear indicators or should i presume its front only that need replacing, both look fine so im guessing its an inside edge thats close to the limit - need to get the wheels off ideally

Tim

As far as I know its just the fronts that have the indicator. Website for tyres is www.camskill.co.uk They seem to be about the cheapest

:salute:haha first search i did after the post led me to http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php :thumbsup:

cheers guys, turns out the tyres ive been trying to wear out werent actually that bad in the first place!! a good middle of the range tyre!! (cooper).... booo, still, good excuse to replace....

with the brakes i was just going to go OEM, mates getting me them at cost from VAG trade centre in sheff.... got me thinking would i need the black diamonds with ds2500 and so far ive never used the brakes enough to warrant IMO - if anyone wants to be objective as to why i should upgrade, speak now pleeease

Just ordered 4 x Eagle F1 Asymmetrics from camskill.

they look very good stock wise and price wise minty....let me know how you get on with them (road noise etc)....

just wondering, with the brake inidicators, once they come on id gather i would have a good couple of weeks usage minimum.....

I ordered Falken FK452's from Camskill, about £62 a corner and can't fault them. I am not an on the edge type of driver and so far they have been more than grippy enough for me and are wearing well.

<tuffty/>

Where are you guys getting these fitted if you don't mind me asking, as Camskill don't offer a fitting service do they?

Cheers,

Had been thinking about these as totally skint at the mo. Currently got T1Rs which have been excellent but are on their last legs. So no negatives to date with the Falkens?

I've just had the FK452's put on my car. I used event-tyres.co.uk as I work at home sometimes so it was just easier have them come to me and fit them. I've also run these tyres on a 340bhp Evo as well and they did a good job, so price wise a very good tyre IMO.

local tyre centre should knock them out @ approx £10 per corner balanced....

When I changed my pads and discs I'm 99% sure the rears don't have wear indicators but was about a yr ago so could be wrong. If you go anything other than OEM I dont think you get the wear indicator so will need linking out (believe its only on one side at the front aswell).

cheers thorsy, will be OEM, i used several other brands that were cheaper when i had my 1.8T , they didnt last as long, were not as good for braking and werent that much cheaper..... i'll never have anything less than standard again
