All these cars up for sale got me thinking.

Got onto pistonheads and i'm a fan of the 3 series. Especially the new one (coupe). Found a lovely car and though....do i......do i.......?

What are your thoughts. Please talk me out of it before i go and do something stupid like put a deposit down!

looks nice and build quality will be excellent, but its quite alot more then your sell the s3 for and it will be slower,
keep the s3 or buy an e46 m3

i think they're really nice looking cars the autovogue range. saw one in the flesh the other day that IMO looked better then the new shape m3's

That bm looks very mean in black. Quite a lot of money though but im sure an m3 would cost much more

I don't want the running costs of an M3. I'd happily have a 335d - 280bhp with over 428lb ft of torque as it's still 39MPG's.

I'm sooooo undecided on this its unreal. I'm almost tempted to P/X mine for it. 4.5K offered as a P/X. Which is low.

Am i doing the right thing? Should i keep my car?

G

Dude, keep the car, and give me any spare cash you have, i'll look after it for you :undwech:

yes (to the original question)

Arrrggggghhhh

I'm almost picking up the phone here. Only thing is he offered 4.5k as Part ex. Which is silly money for such a nice car. Mines mint and has 1 owner FASH. Hardly any marks and has been detailed to a level of obsession. Do i do it all again with this BMW?? Plus no turbo unless i got for the diesel at 26k......

G

If i had spare cash i'd be going on holiday.....god damn i need one of those too.

Pahhh......MONEY!!!!!

G

Looks an awesome car, but remember that car has got a hell of a lot of depreciating to do yet. If youre prepared to accept that matey, id say go for it!

dont do it G, but if you do sell me your alloy mirrors first lol

DJ....Good advice there didn't think about that.

Chris will do mate! I'll keep that in mind if i sell up.

Is there any point in selling up. I'm very indecisive and it doesn't help me at the best of times.

G

Oi!!! Gav, If you are going to spend that sort of money get yourself a nearly new S3 LOL. You know once the novelty of the Beemer has worn off you will be missing us all on here soooooo much, and thats a big car to detail 3 x a week :)

Personally I wouldn't touch a £20K car at the moment, it'll be worth £15K by the end of the year and like mentioned above you'll soon get bored and want something else. Nice car though but a lot of money. If I had £20K it would be going onto home improvements.

HAhaha. Very true. Hmmmm

I guess i'll be keeping the car then.

If you really fancy a change, No bmw no st....... RS4.....no more said ;)

Hmmm. I might just go look at an ST in my local ford dealer, fancy a change.

G

Gav, I think you must have lost your mind. I must pass 7 ST's every day going to work and I only live 2 miles away. Residuals will be ***** and for some reason I can't see you fitting into the Ford brigade. Nothing against ST's, but you know you wouldn't be happy with it after a couple of months. I think you have just got the "want something new for the summer" sickness LOL. Like I said before. Your car is very tidy. Keep it that way for a couple of years, sell it with hardly any loss and then get something awesome ;)

Then there's the road tax issue on anything newer than 2003 with a higher band again.

Mate it looks nice dont get me wrong but surely you own the S3 for a reason and that is to have fun!! not only that but yours is an amazing example and to sell it for 4.5k is ridiculous i cant even believe you would consider that! in a years time that bimmer would have lost that much in depreciation so its like keeping your car for free!!!

I would seriously think about it but man i wouldnt give my car away especially one in the condition that yours is in!!!

HTH

Peace out dude

I used to think I was indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore...

LOL told you. I'm terrible when it comes to big decisions.

Madmatt....

Thanks for the good advice and nice comments mate. Appreciated, very much. I guess i'm just being silly and thinking BMW would be nicer and newer.

Mart....

Spot on there dude. I've changed my mind on the ST i do like it to look at in certain colours, but owning one might be a different story.

Guess i just keep mine then. Do i spend money on BBS LM wheels and make it look a little nicer? Or will that spoil a nice example??

Thanks for all the advice and comments lads. I do appreciate it.

G

LMFAO

All i need then is Doc the counterpart and i'm set to go back make a small fortune and then i can have an R8, LP640, DBS, Veyron, RS6, RS4, 911, Cayman, CCR, and a glass cage made for my little S3. All snugly fitted into my Mahooosive house.

Lol...then again pigs might fly.

G

Get the BBS wheels mate, you know it makes sense. When you sell it on they can always come back off again. I would say pick up a set of damaged ones cheaper and have them refurbed whatever colour you want.

judging by the pics i cant quite see the "flux capacitor" anywhere so he should be alright. because we all know its the "flux capacitor" which makes time travel possible! haha!!

dont know about anybody else but i'd be dissapointed owning one of those cars cuz the lack of time travel that is associated with those cars lol would just be too much to bare!

:superman::superman::superman:

Very nice but you'd be in trouble when you hit 88mph!!:undwech:
