Hi guys,

Just had my 60,000 mile cambelt service on my s3.

All in all 415 pounds for the following, all genuine audi parts:

Cambelt
Tensioning roller,
Tensioning damper,
Coolant pump,
Coolant,
PAS fluid,
Engine mount bolts
Thermostat

How does that compare with what other people have experienced?

Cheers,

Andy

Pretty good value. I paid just over £500 for that lot plus haldex and an interim service last June.

Cheers,

jojo- i had it done by Dean at '4 rings'. I found him whilst browsing a few forums, this being one of them. I had a look at various places throughout london, the cheapest was Amd in essex which was 370 but that wasn't with all the parts i listed and also not genuine audi parts plus it was about 60 miles away.

He came to my house so saved me time and money taking it somewhere also. Going by all the quotes i got, it was the cheapest and by a reasonable amount, roughly 70 pounds and i phoned up quite a few people for quotes.

Unfortunately i need to also replace the front discs and pads and the front drop link however ill do that next weekend myself to save some money.

Didn't he recommend the water pump as well? Would have been sensible so swap this unless its been done on the car recently.

ha i wasn't meaning that in any sarcastic way, just that i wrote coolant pump instead of water pump. yeah not too bad of a price in the end.

I used (4 RINGS) a few months ago for my service,

I had some one called Adam do mine, really good service and very helpful and profesional,

Gonna call them back soon to do a few bits, I had a full service done brakes serviced haldex filter oil, new belts, cambelt water pump etc everything done possible, i think it was about £700 which seems alot but not when i compared it to Audi and some others, they also done a full hand written report on my car of things what were wearing, and checked for faults etc, and i was pleased with the service so will use them again, and recomend them to any1,

plus like said they come to you, which is convenient for some people like me, when you are busy,

i went to just vw audi and paid 660 for
Cambelt
water pump
oil flush, change and filter
haldex oil and filter
rear diff oil
brake fluid
plugs
airfilter
aircon recharge
and a few other bits and bobs
although i did find out my air con compresor was knackered and i needed a cv boot but i guess its the joys of motoring

so id say you got a good deal
