Extra functions/hidden menu via climate control?

On our Mk5 GTI (and the Mk4 prior) you can access a series of hidden function via the climate control. You can read more about it here, but the stuff able to be accessed is oil pressure, oil temp*, uncorrected speed, corrected speed and so on (there's heaps of stuff, not all of it useful mind).

Can a similar menu be accessed on 8P A3/S3 models too?

*Not sure if it is a facelift thing, but I noticed the other day that the oil temp can be accessed through the DIS on the S3. :icon_thumright:
 
You can turn on an advanced comfort menu in instruments 17 then adaptation channel 82 set to a 2 IIRC, also there's a long coding byte I think in central electrics 09 byte 22/23 also IIRC, this tends to add few more functions, but note these options are also based on the version of cluster you have as I had an 04 cluster & when options enabled as above didnt get the extra's, so I updated to a 09 facelift white DIS & all the functions are now there.

I believe the extra functions started from 07 8P onwards with the red DIS clusters.
 
I have an A3 Sportback, 2006 (March) and am wondering if I can get any additional functions on the red DIS. I would very much like oil temperature or pressure. Does anyone know if this is possible? Any advice appreciated.
 
how do you access this ?

know in the old car it was a sequence of buttons that needed pressing.

What is the magic combo for the 8p?
 
looks like its the top recirculate and the up arrow buttons are pressed simultaneously. Will try myself tomorrow, the codes would be handy though...

I tried holding down the top recirculate and up arrow buttons, but it didnt do anything. I've also tried various other combinations with no success.

Any got any other ideas? Google doesnt know the answer.

So in order to enable this feature on clima control unit we must log in with Vag Com and change the values on Instrument cluster and Central Electronics?

Because i tried to eneble this future on my S3 8P 2008 with the kry combination shown on the video but nothing came up from the secret menu.

I think that it will be very intresting to find a way to eneble this features on clima.

Audi S3 8L is better than ours that they have this featurew??:moa::moa::sob:
 
Nope, tried the recirculate button and up-arrow as mentioned in the web site: http://[URL="http://www.audifans.com/kb/Climate_control_codes"]www.audifans.com/kb/Climate_control_codes[/URL] but it did not work at all. Perhaps we have to have VAG-COM changes before it can be used. Anyone have the solution. :think: (March 2006 Sportback).
 
I believe that was how it was done on the pre-facelift 8L A3, I could do that on my old car. Haven't got it working on my current car. Looks like its set to 18.5 degrees & 21 degrees, then turn the speed down to 2nd bar and then press the up & recirclulate buttons at same time?
