Is all this money being raised actually doing any good.
I read that 25 years ago thirty million africans were starving and now it is seventy five so is it actually making a dent.

I don't donate to comedy relief because I don't agree with where the money goes. Its obvious that the money going to these starving nations isn't doing jack ****. It just convinces their corrupt governments that they don't need to do anything about the starving millions because foreign aid will take care of them.

I agree sidibear but on a whole I only back uk charities. I think we may be solving some problems in Africa just to replace them with other bigger problems.

I was always taught to get your own house in order first and from the looks of things the uk isn`t in that good a position.

I agree with fingermouse, typical england though looking after others and not its own.

I personally wont donate to any charity that gives the money to any other country other than my own.

There is more than enough people in the uk that could do with this sort of help yet for some reason the money goes overseas. I'm not saying foreigners dont need it cos they obviously do, just think it'd be better spent here instead.

:iagree:

To be fair Comic Relief funds projects in the UK as well.

My issue with it is there is something a bit questionable about doing 'something funny' for pretty serious issues.

By all means I would sponsor someone doing a personal challenge - marathon, walk, cycle - but not for fancy dress pie eating contests etc.

Igdos, there are a lot of causes in the UK that anyone can donate to. All the cash you will donate direct will go to the cause, anything you donate to comic relief, live aid etc has admin fees that need to be taken care of.
If you want to give, then donate direct.
I personally have direct debits with the RNLI and Redwings horse santuary.
