basically as title says, got my car back on wednesday... feels very different compared to the astra td i was driving for the past 2 months!

anyway, they did the engine recon, also did the timing chain tensioner (which ive heard is around 300 pounds?), water pump, timing belt all for the price they quotes me 1250...

so finally got it back after ages! on the road, all i need now is a remap! but this has kinda left my skint :(

glad to hear your back on the road mate. Bitchin bill to pay, but I guess thats the price o audi lol

Do you have a 1.8T by chance?

I just had mine rebuilt and it cost me over £3k with new clutch and turbo as well as the timing kit and engine rebuild.

Mine feel very different now, it's wierd but it feels tighter and noisier!!!

yeah i have a 1.8t, i didnt get a new turbo as that was fine and the clutch was relatively new anyway... they did the water pump, timing belt, timing chain thing? and the engine recon for 1250, paid cash so a bit cheaper...

and yeah it feels well wierd and a lot louder! i was driving an astra diesel around for a few months while my audi was off the road so i got quite used to that. the economy was unbelievable on that thing! it seems like im filling the a4 up everyday!!!

saying all that though, my horn no longer works, they f***ed up my fog lights (cant find one of the wires where the bulb plugs into) and the cracked my front bumper getting it on the tow truck, so now im left with trying to sort it all out...

What a Bummer!!

What did they say when you told them what they done???

this was there exact words:

"there was nothing we could do, the car was too low to get on the back of the truck"

there was no mention of repairing it, so i was a bit annoyed, but at least i got it back with the main part working again properly lol.

now i have to wait a little while to get the body work repaired. gonna give the car to my normal mechanic so he can look at the fog light thing and horn problem.

Thats Cheek aint it, There was something they could have done....Phoned you first alerting you of the situation!!

I know your buzzing to get your motor up and running again mate but dont let them take the **** though. Make sure they either sort it or give you some money back.
It narks me when garages do that, They think they have done you such a big favour that the 'minor' damage you wont be bothered about!:asskicking:

...time to open a can of Whup-***!!!!:)

and did you tune up your car? any plan?

J7USS, yeah i realy should do something but to be honest i know im not going to get anywhere with them , n i dont feel like going thru all the headache of it to be honest...

ozique i am halfway thru doing it, next thing will be a catback exhaust and then a custom remap. after that ill get some light smoke tints n ill be done. oh n obvioulsy get the bodywork sorted.

Yeah I know what you saying, I had exactly same headache just searching for an Engine, wears you down dont it.

Do they have a bit of a rep then?
Mate Id be on the case, You've just paid for their Xmas Dinner!!:drag:
The bits might be easy to sort out but aint the Point, how can they justify what they have done, spending all that Cash with them (which they aint gonna declare....which we've all done:eyebrows:,ha)
Stand Authority Jheeta :busted_cop:.

How bad is your Bumper anyway??

to be honest the bumper that bad, i mean it'll need to be taken off and resprayed, it need a little filling as well but i was planning on getting the front resprayed anyway (i know thats no excuse but saves me the headache).
to be honest the dont have a rep, they are meant to be quite good.

my dad is a builder and just happen to give one of the owners a quote (before they did my car, just by coincidence) on his house so if he gets the job, ill make sure my dad gets the money back for me...

lol,Yeah done that before aswell. Nice one!

so i took my car down to my mechanic, it turns out that they didnt plug the power back in that powers up the horn and the fog lights. had to remove the front bumper (only the left side) and managed to plug it back in, along with finding the right fog light plug. so got it sorted now (all apart from the body work) but will get around to that in the newyear when funds are a little more, well lets say available lol
