335 is the new MSD81 ECU, so is slighty detuned compared to the older ones. Has software only on pump fuel:

Even with that dodgy white roofliner the S3 is so much better looking than that 3 series. That rear light cluster is the worst look to ever come out of BMW - they improved it pretty quickly with the shape on the new M3.
Looks like that 3 is faster than the S3 to me though - do you know which map the S3 has ?

Seems to me like the S3 loses out on the gear chnages more than anything else. Otherwise fairly close i'd say..
What sort of power is it running mate?
as has been said the 335i will be circa 360-370bhp
IF thats a manual ( S3 ) v ( 335i ) auto it's a good result when you way it up.

No the 335 has just got much longer gears.
The remap is by a local company called Frieling-Racing. Makes 281hp on all 4 wheels & 318 lb-ft on the wheels. I think that's around 350hp at the engine, but I have to go back to the dyno to confirm.
^^^^^That seems high from a remap + intake 315-330bhp would be in keeping with what we have seen so far with the S3

I have been in a mapped 335i and I would be very surprised if a mapped S3 could better it, the 335i is easily producing 360/370 bhp, there is a slight weight disadvanatage as the 335 is a big car.
I would like to see the same duel between a mapped 135i (On my wish list) and a mapped S3, if its dry my money is on the 1'er, if it's wet game over !!

^^^^^^Thats the point Spin , if the OP's S3 is 330bhp and the 335i is 370bhp then the S3 is doing well to stay with it!

steve jnr at stattler reported the same thing when they raced an s3 with giac and evoms against a mapped 335i.
He pretty much said there was nothing in it which given that the bmw is 3.0 6cyl bi turbo is pretty impressive!!!!!

Just kidding, I ran them a while back. 335 is a bit stronger, especially up top. But mine is the older spec with the older ECU, so FRC have given me a bit more boost.
