Hello fellow A3/S3 fans/owners!

Just got my 2nd Audi, the first being a 1.6s Audi A3 X reg 01 registered facelift model...

Have now upgraded to an S3 225BHP 51 reg 02 registered face lift, with 78k, black in colour and in decent condition.

As soon as I got it I to it to Nirro in Barking, Essex for a check up and service
and got the following done

Full service inc oil filter/air filter and spark plugs
cambelt/water pump and vibration dampener
New clutch kit, concentric slave cylinder
clutch master cylinder
stabiliser bar with bushes and clamps
rear discs and pads
haldex service inc oil and filter change
retro fitted leather armrest bought from an s3 broken on ebay!

As you can imagine after getting all of that done the car was driving like a dream!

I wasn't fully pushing it due to new brakes etc and had it out the garage for about 2 days ( about 3 weeks since purchase) and some muppet over taking on the wrong side of the road prangs me pretty good on the drivers front side of the car!

He was in an 08 corsa and it looked like a write off! i was glad I was in an Audi...

Anyway the insurance decided it was feasible to repair (thank god!) and I should be getting it back this week. I'm not sure how the insurance found it economically viable to repair - I paid £7500 for it and when I spoke to the repair garage (Ryestreet Coachworks Herts) they said the cost of the repairs were around £5000!

Anyway I'm not complaining...and the garage are fixing and extra few minor dents and scratches so the car should come back looking even sexier!

They've had it 3 weeks now and I am really itching to have it back...just spoke to 'em and they said should be ready tomorrow or friday

I'll post some pictures for ya'll!

Richard

When some **** drove into my a3 whilst it was parked, on a straight road, I had a long conversation with his insurance company that assured me it wouldn't be written off unless the repair cost as much as the market value. I always thought it was 50%+ but I'm not complaining either.

Just make sure when you get it back you inspect in thoroughly, inside and out. I didn't and ended up with a fight on my hands (which eventually got sorted) and cost me time and money.

hope you get the car back soon though. nothing like getting back into your car when its been a while.

Man sounds like you had a good start that went bad, but lets hope things get better and the car is as you say sexier than before....oh and about that itching...see a doctor as there are creams for that sort of thing now ;)

sounds like you got a bit of a bargain at £7.5k! As said above, give the car a really good going over before you accept it back, then get some pics up!

thanks guys....just can't wait to get it back!!!

still haven't got it back yet ...Monday apparently....not holding my breath..:drag:

its driving me mad!

hello & welcome.im also from enfield and have herd good things about ryestreet.ill be on the lookout now !good luck.

I feel your pain. I got mine back a week late. They kept telling me 'it'll be ready tomorrow'. The cowboys that dealt with my a3 failed to:

a)put the door lock back together properly
b)sil was painted the wrong colour
c)seal the welding they'd done
d)tighten a bolt on the rear suspension
e)fix the bumper back to the car correctly (you could almost pull the thing off with your hands)
f)nearly every interior panel rattled. (In my entire life there is nothing more annoying than interior rattling.)

I should have spotted the door lock and the sil immediately. I had to really slam the door for it to shut and when locked the nob dropped into the door.
After that I had a trusted garage go over all the work when it went in for a service. I then phoned the cowboys and told them to sort it, which they did.

I hope when you get it back it's all as it should be and you can get some pics up asap. :)

Finally got it back! Appears to be a good job, although I'm no mechanic. No rattles or anything, no dodgy noises, paint work good and matches and touch wood appears all good so far. Only thing was as I collected it yesterday evening they realised they had forgot to put in one of the xenon headlights so I have to return to get that done!

will post some pics soon...

Crazy, but good that you got it...

Look forward to the pics.

insurance companies have changed, they will pretty much repair any car if itsaves them paying out
