Not quite but Im running 18x8.5s mate with an ET of 35, run 15mm spaces on the rear to bring them out a bit but their still under the arches, prefer my fronts to be more tucked in anyway so not got spaces up there
Never had any issues with clearance like that tho dude if thats any help
Ta very muchly. I've found some whells I quite like but they only size I cant get with 5x100 and 35 offset is 18x9. Still, I guess it saves the need for spacers!
Ryan........you're gonna need to change your signiture soon!!! LOL
I was also wondering the same thing. I currently have 8x18" ultraleggeras with 235/40 formula r's and want to go to a 9"x18 with a wider tyre to improve grip. I have heared bad things about going wider than 225, but surely more width equals more grip? Also, as we have seemingly massive wheel arches, why not fill them?

You are right, wider rubber = more grip, which is why it will ruin your handling if you go too wide at the rear! You will have so much rubber in contact with the ground at the back, it makes it difficult for the car to turn, like trying to rotate a large piece of rubber on a flat surface with the weight of the car sitting on it if you get me. You are better off getting some spacers to push the wheels out and increasing your track a little, this will fill the arches more as you suggested, and will give you a bit more grip without effecting your turn in.
I was thinking 245/35 all round. There was a german s3 ( yellow ) in one of the magazines a few months ago photographed at the ring with KW suspension that ran them and it apparently lapped the ring in 8 mins 30, which is pretty good. I see the idea about the wide track but have always steered away from spacers, for no other reason than they just do not seem right and are on because the wheels are too narrow or have the wrong offset.
