It shall remain nameless for now, but another Audi forum site that I frequent has put the worst taste in my mouth and given me a headache.

The amount of immaturity, disrespect, and foul language has reached an all time high (or should I say low?)

The worst part is that it no longer is a forum for the dissemination of pertinent information, but rather a chat room for flaming and bashing members. And the worst culprits are the moderators!! They think it's funny - they hijack a thread and start bashing and name calling and then they joke about it to each other within the thread!

Very unprofessional and a wast of time. I have removed myself from that site and will continue visiting here.

You guys (and gals) are a bunch of great people. I don't get any sense of pretense or bravado from any of you. The information is current and well responded. And the tone of voice is pleasant and cheery. It seems like we are a family! I assume that much of the maturity and tone is because the majority of you are from the UK. I don't know why a few bad apples from the States (one state in particular) can ruin the experience for everyone.

Oh well... Cheers to you for keeping this forum polite and cheerful!!

Yeah true...i havent been here long but i have to say that the community is very friendly.

I just hate the flaming forums...too much of them already. People dont even dare to ask something because they are affraid to be flamed.

Couldn't agree more. I used to be a member on a site that dealt with the older cars (Quattros etc) and I got fed up with the smart-*** comments provided by people who seemed to use the forum just for having a dig at people. Granted, one or two of the members really did know their stuff, but they were far outweighed by annoying individuals.

I suppose it's a blessing in disguise that my old Coupe is making way for an A4.

I've got audi-sport.net as my homepage now, so that speaks for itself!

There's an abundance of knowledge on here, as well as the odd bit of fun, but the site is doing it's job; as a resource for serious Audi enthusiasts.

Let's keep it that way!

Andrew.

Hahaha... It seems to happen over and over again, in every language, in every place... I've been through that with Off-Roading forums before, and when it happens, it's just the right time to move on and evolve.

I hope I can find the answers to my concerns here and also be able to share the little I've learnt so far.

Paranoico.
