Alright guys - for those that do not know, this is my A3:

The other week I decided to order myself a set of Bose speaker grills pictured below:

Since I do not have any Bose in my car I thought I might customise it to my system

Then I thought I would experiment with the colour:

I was not happy with this decision so decided to revert back to the aluminium/silver look

Much better I think!

Anyway, this is my sound system:

With Focal Components up front, so to add the final touch to my simple modification....

I am quite happy with the way they turned out, I might now get a pin and colour the "Sound System" in black to make it stand out more and suit the black Focal writting

Hope you like

looks class! loving the car by the way, showroom condition!!!!:hubbahubba:

Thanks mate - had them in the car over a year now and I am using a Audiocontrol EQL

I am told there is more to get out of the components so can't wait to get the car fully and properly set up to my liking (H)

excellent, simple mod! the best ideas are usually the simple ones.:icon_thumright:

good man you have focal i have MTX in mine

Stunning work Boydie - do you do installs for a living??? If not, you definitely have a backup career there.

Thanks guys - no, I do not do it for a living. A very reputable company here in Northern Ireland did my bootbuild, called Audio Advice.

They have won numerous show car competitions with their own car and customer cars and had worldwide magazine features!

I have built 2 builds before but not to the standard of the one in my A3

Excellent work mate, very neat and tidy.
The Focal writing and sign, is that stickers?

Thanks mate - yeah, just stickers. Any graphics company can make them up no sweat!

mate diamond sub and focal compononts. i bet that set up sounds crystal clear!!!looks the business mate

Looks great, what tweeks are you expecting to do to it ? I'm going to start an install on mine soon but it won't quite be to your standard.

Very nice finishing touch to your install.

With a decent processor in the install, the tweaks are almost limitless. Can take hours to set up a system to your own taste.

Which reminds me I must get back and do some more work on my own install now the good weather is with us.

I have a Audiocontrol EQL hidden under one of the Genesis Chassis' ;)

Thanks for the comments!

Facelift rear bumper and then I think the car is complete! (maybe consider a miltek downpipe but not sure yet)

Another update over the past 2months

Got my rear lights and dewipered the rear :)

Apologies for the crap pictures, my Dad is in Malaysia at the minute and has his camera away with him!

However, I have been prominsed a magazine feature in a local Irish Modifying Magazine as they are now into this Euro scene so once I get my hands on a face lift S-Line rear bumper, we are good to go!

boydie, looks superb mate. love the shocker. ive got my wiper bung from the same plate (not the shocker tho!) and im still fannying around weather or not to take the plunge and do it. hmmmm.

Its hard work - the rear boot card is a nightmare to remove and my forearms were quite sore the next day!

You will need a screw driver to pry out the clips which there are 8 I think and its just a matter of unscrewing the pump, disconnecting the wires and water feed, tie wrapping them up and inserting the bung with some sealant!

the bung i got came with some very strong smelling stuff which i assume is glass cleaner and some special glue.

the boot card is 2 screws in the handlesm un-screw then then yank the fecker off isnt it?

Thats what I thought but I'm 14.5stone and I consider myself to be quite strong but I couldnt budge the barsteward lol

I took off the cover that covers the boot lock and sort of wedged the boot card back towards the car, stuck a screw driver in and pried the clips out

I will try get a picture of the boot card and roughly sketch where they are located - it is an animal to get off but it will eventually!

next for you would be updating the front bumper/griller, can't stand the split grille on 8P

I disagree - think it makes a nice change compared to the 'common' single grille ones. After all, there are only 18 months worth of twin grilles and now nearly 4 years (and counting) of single grilles.

Does need de-chroming though, especially with the dark lights.

Nice mods Boydie, car looks good.

I was all for doing the front bumper change but I quite like this look now - looks very aggressive and original which is what I am after with OEM+ mods.

De-chroming....I am in two mind about that to be honest, might source some spare ones and spray them black to see what they come out like!

Marc - I got pulled in portadown shortly after the meet and was fined £30 :( so better to be safe than sorry! I am getting new plates though to remove the writing underneath and the front plate will have a black border right to the edge so you do no see the 3 prongs from the lisence plate holder!

thanks for the comments!
