Help with retrofit footwell lights

I retro fitted footwell lights thanks to Robins excellent guide, not having VAG-COM I resorted to the stealers.....

They could not code them.......the tech reported that the option was not available???

They also could not code the door handle illumination, yet they (a different tech) managed to code the door warning/puddle lights no problem.

So was the tech being more than averagly thick? Or is there a possibility that this cannot be done?

My A3 is a 2008, I know some of the modules and wiring has changed any suggestions?
