Rolling Road Day - Southern

Me too, I think another mate will be coming with his mapped Octavia VRS diesel!!!, maybe...
 
I have a mate with an R32 that would be interested too...
We've not even put this in the 8L forum yet - when I confirm who/where we're going I'll open it up a little so we can get numbers that will make it best value for everyone.

Guys, I would like to come but am getting my car on the 25th...it won't have any miles on the clock so is it cool to dyno it before it's run in? Or is this stupid-talk?
 
I could be up for this as well, dependant upon dates, as I'd like to see what my standard S3 is producing having read the recent northern RR day results. I've been to Surrey Rolling Road and would recommend it (although the facilities leave a bit to be desired ;) ). Charlie (the guy who runs it) is a nice guy and sorted out a £35 per run deal for the Fiat Coupe club last year, IIRC. Only problem will be that he doesn't offer a mapping service, so not what everyone is looking for :( .

Regal is handy for me, although I always thought that they were a Vauxhall specialist, and parking near their place isn't great :ermm: .

Hey Magnus,

I'm not sure of the rules about when is a good time to put your car on the rolling road. I'm guessing it wouldn't do any harm, your likely to record lower figures though as you're engine will be a little tighter (you'll notice lower mpg until about 4k miles - I did anyway!!).

I'm hopefully getting some bits and pieces fitted next weekend (26th) so it's likely to be a weekend in Aug, give you a bit of time to get some miles under your cars belt!!!

Had a chat with Regal this afternoon and I'm waiting on a list of dates and a final overview on what they are preapred to offer us.
When I have this, I'll post the two options and put it to the masses for the vote and book the winner.
Hope to be able to finalise all of this tomorrow.
Sorry for the wait, had to wait for the Regal guys to get back from the states!

Choice will basically be between AMD (Revo) and Regal (GIAC).

I'm STILL chasing Regal for their offer for the day. Given I've chased them for 3 days on the trot and still not had confirmtation of availability and offer to allow us to chose I can't say they appear to want our business!
I'll give them one last nudge tomorrow and see how we go!

I'd tell them to poke it if I were you!!! Seems they are not intersted in our business, lets take it to someone that wants it
 
Yeah - a bit dissapointing.
Sending an email now, and will follow up.
I've also emailed a few other options, simply so we have a choice!

We would be happy to support your planned event in anyway we could help.

We have access to 4WD rollers, not far from our Staines location. We would need to have a chat with the owner in regards to current availability for a shoot out day but I am sure something could be arranged to suit.

In regards to remaps, we could offer our Stage 2 code with some discount for those wishing to have a tune completed on the day.

If you wanted to use another independent rolling road, again we would be happy to supply remapping services if you wished no problem at all.

So another option for you to consider.

I can highly recommend Vagcheck's map. My RR plot is lovely and I got 307.5bhp / 328lbft with just a remap.

Think there's definitely plus points to being on an independant RR

Basically, Regal are pulling something together for me and AMD already have. Another option for everyone to chose from is always good.

If you could perhaps offer more details and info on your maps, switchability etc. If you could also advise on dates, prices, etc.

Ok leave it with me, & we will have a chat with the dyno owner as to what dates are available.

In regards to our remaps no we dont offer any kind of end user switching option for the MED9.x ECU. However we do offer a service where we will flash the ECU back to stock free of charge & then reload the performance map for a nominal charge if required for a dealer visit.

I will post back here when I have some more details, to what we can offer in terms of discount.
