DRIVE E46 M3 AND AWWWW MY GOD!!!!

Nice car, i've recently been looking at M3 CSL's, seem to hold their value fairly well.

Defo , but the really nice low milers are still a lot of money , i wouldn't touch one for S3 money with 50-60k on the clock.

I'm starting a thread on negative equity and the housing market, pro's and con's of buying vs. renting if anyone's interested.
Also i'd like to start a thread on 'Is mums home cooking REALLY good enough to warrant staying at home for?'

All questions which us Audi owners NEED answers to.

As things were just starting to move back to cars you just had to come back and spoil it!

I love my mum, dont get me wrong, but her cooking is f*cking awefull!

I still remember the various ways i had to smuggle my dinner out of the kitchen.....

Walking towards teh bathroom muttering "ive finished" with hamster cheeks full of dinner.

I even stuffed it in my pockets sometimes :)

She was a harsh woman "Your not leaving the table until youve finished it"!!

:)

I'd ruin it anyway by dropping it on it's **** with non standard wheels - can't help myself.

If I got one it'd have to be sub 25k miles with a warranty, not many around.

Well listen, i can't cook a good rhubarb crumble or a nice cottage pie like mum. But i've learnt to make do. Likewise i doubt my mum wanted to hear me having drunken sex in the early hours of friday/saturday morning....It's a trade-off.

Not sure what my point is but i rest my case....

Mint low mile examples in black are still fetching the best part of 35-40k which is a lot of bread for a 2-3 year old car.

In the same way, mint 1989 E30 M3 Cecotto's (505 made) are fetching £20k which is a lot of bread for a 19 year old car.

Thats the point i'm making mate, these cars new are a lot more than i can afford , and i'm not the sort of person to buy a CSL ( or anyother car )with crazy miles and no warrenty for nearly 30k just to have one , i'd rather have a lesser car with warrenty and low miles.

On the flipside, I'm getting 3-4 years down the line the CSL will be worth more than our S3's.

I do see where you're coming from though and I do agree having been stung with £4k repair bill on previous car...it's a lot of money to pull out of your **** should the worst happen.

I agree.
We could, when renewing the wife's cars, buy any number of used cars, some of which are very appealing.
But we always default to new ones.
Bit of a moot point now though, seeing as we intend to PCP/PCH from now on!

As discussed a number of times Bowfer, i'm with you on the PCH route. I just have no interest in tying money up in financial 'ball and chains' like houses and cars at least for the foreseeable future. I'd rather use them and move on.

Funnily enough, whilst browsing autotrader yesterday, I came across a company leasing a used M3 for £299 a month.
See if this link works.

Can't we throw the guy a bone? Fair one matey, the M3 is a hell of a car, and it's horses for courses. How much would it suck if we all drove the same car, wore the same clothes, fancied the same lass etc etc.
The M3's straight six sounds amazing, and they do look well, why not own one if he wants. You may get bored of it in 6 months, and fancy a RS6!
Go for it, and be sure to get lots of pics when you do.
BMW's always cop for stick on here. Im watching the prices of RS4's and M5's, as i want to own both of them despite what friends reckon.

This thread has been hilarious to read from start to finish...

Everyone is going to have an opinion on everything. It happens all the time. But to be fair that's why we actually like responding to threads ion this site isn't it? We all like cars and like to talk about them.

JUX to me sounds like a very lucky chappy. I know at 23 all I could afford was a Fiesta 1.3 SuperSport (pre XR2 days), and I thought that was the bizz.

Spunkin that sort of cash on a car at 23 does sound like JUX has different priorities but so what? It's his money. In 10yrs time when he's still struggling to buy a property (because he will want to), he may look back at his M3 and think, actually I wish I kept the S3 and didn't waste so much cash on depreciation etc etc. Who cares! It's his money, let him spend it on what makes him happy.

So long as nothing goes bang, he will love it. And I'm sure the ladies in his 'hood will too.

Would be nice to see the pics though, all the same.

:)

Lease purchase though isn't it? There'll still be a balloon payment at the end i'd imagine. Still a great deal though for a mint original example.

He wont as he has 3 properties already ;)

Very nice indeed. Do BMW 3's still have awful stereos as standard. I know the Harmon Kardon and 6-series systems are nice but I always found the 3 & 5 series to be pretty awful.

****** hell the guy talks about getting an m3 and gets slated for it because he lives at home still.. .whats that all about. m3, nice car mate good on you. whats the problem???

The business stereo's not bad, not brilliant either but about as good as most of the standard offerings. I've added a powered sub in the boot of minte which has transformed it.

Wait a minute, you've a vx220, solar orange 8P S3, and 3 properties (shag pad inclusive) at age 23?

whoa....:anbet:

*btw, I dont think the stock M3 sounds good, but that's just me.

The problem is my mum MADE me eat **** food :sob:

Get used to it buddy.... We now have a generation of superficial young women who can't cook for **** quite frankly.

Disclaimer: As a modern man i appreciate household tasks such as cooking are to be shared equally.... :shutup2:

As long as they have great tits and a take-away menu who cares:)

I have the professional system ( I think ) in my D3.
It's not great, but it's not bad, even compared with the Bose set up in my A3.
Maybe doesn't go as loud but, then again, it doesn't have to, as the car is much quieter.
For a given volume level, I would say it's better quality.
Much better stereo seperation, but that may be down the fact the A3 has an overpowering centre speaker, which 'muddies' the sound a bit.
I would have upgraded to the DSP-7 system, if I was able to.
Not because it really needs it, just because I always tend to go for the best stereo available.
The aux connection is pish though, I'll give you that (as they are in any car, IMO).
I've yet to get around to a Dension link.

I won't let my missus near the kitchen ( apart from the sink, washing machine, dryer, dog bowls, bin's, ect ) as she's crap at cooking and she knows it.:whistle2:

More of an *** man myself but a wise comment none the less.

Sorry to any female forum goers. Actually no i'm not, they're probably over in the TT forum anyway.

eh?

for what amouinted to a £10k hike on a std M3 the prices have nose dived

loads at £25k, they'll be floating about £20k by the end of the year

OP - hope you have more luck with yours than I did with mine

crap steering and uncomfortable seats made me sell it within 3 weeks

yeah I think it is the business system that is not much good from memory

There's next to sod all difference.
I checked, because some D3's came with business and some with professional.
It's only stuff like a twin tuner and the aux connection that seperates them.
No change in output/number of speakers etc.

My girflriend ticks all ***/tits/cooking boxes. And she does poledancing :whistle2:
