 SO, as the title.... Both the front wheels have them... no idea what they are/do?

Is it some ugly security device??

Gave us 5 mins debate by the water cooler this afternoon

never seen those before.. what the hell is that??

My associate Bibby, who claims to know everything, doesnt have a clue.

Ask Jeeves?

...They're even-worse-than-usual spinners... God forbid!

...No, they're gyros for a dead-reckoning navigation system that works when a GPS antenna doesn't have a signal, or enough satellites for a positive location. They detect longitudinal and latitudinal acceleration and deceleration to deliver back-up trajectory information in such circumstances...

...No that's bo//ocks too, but did I have any of you going? ;)

No idea... Maybe jojo's right and McGards aren't as steathly as they once were... ?

(EDIT) No wait... They're protection for the centre-badges... The owner found out how much replacements are and took action!?!

Regards,

Rob.

rob, you know what.. that could almost have made sense. The car belongs either to the recruitment company its parked outside or its neighbour, who do gps mine plotting and all sorts of other survey stuff!!!

Looks like Im gonna have to catch the driver and ask him/her.

will do.. I was sure someone here would know the answer so I could go to work tomorrow all knowledged up! ;)

Have a look inside, if you see lots of weird looking boxes with flashing lights & a white tube with a Mr Fusion sticker on the side then its fair to guess those strange discs are something to do with vertical stabilising whilst in flight!

Either that or someones watched Top Gear on sunday night & actually thought fitting Boadicia style wheel attachments was a) legal and b) a good idea!!!!

They're what the place on the wheels while the car is in transit to protect them ;)

Obviously another great example of Audi's PDI'ing skills... I bet they left the suspension stops on as well and the owner jus thinks the sports suspension is really solid

wheel spacer... from what?? The outside air ;)

I will aim to catch this guy this afternoon... he's parked next to me today...

protection against scuffing on high curbs? :tumble:

never seen anything like that before...

Maybe he's trying to recreate the old Clio 16 valve wheels.....

HAHAHAHAHA.

So I found out what they are, and in all honesty I prefer some of the explanations here...

they are Spikes spiders.

Some 'easy fit' snow chain thing. :tocktock:

Notice how 'easy' they try advertising it, using a woman to fit them. I cant remember the last time I saw I woman near a tyre!

Darn it they turned out to be some kind of boring rubbish sensible thing!! Think they've ruined a perfectly good set ot alloys there! Go back & tell the driver that I say stop being a cheap skate & buy a quattro, that way they wont need some cheap & nasty american snow shoe thingy on there car. Go on now, go tell them!!

you clean your car? Well done to you Ms Lottster! << no sarcasm intended

blimey... Mrs K never cleans her car... Its a mobile play pen for the kids! :banghead:

your not impressing me. I can do all those things. Im impressed by cleaning, vacuuming, ironing. ;)

****** hell Lottie, how does he get you to do all that, cooking cleaning, ironing, etc to get all that in one woman is hard these days, you got a sister by any chance:moa:

Actually, theres an Aldi accross from the Audi dealer... yup, Aldi/Audi. I'll have a pop in but as Ive never had any of your cupcakes I have nowt to compare them too.

Seriously tho Lots, well done for looking after yourself. My missis is the same (bar the car) and I thank my lucky stars regularly.
