Viva la Vorsprung Durch Technik...

I live on the edge of the town centre and this morning i had an early start (had to get a few things done at work i should have done yesterday) so went out to the car at about 6.45am only to discover some drunken loser/yob/piece of sh*t (call it what you will) during the night had gone the full length of my road and whacked the offside wing mirror on every single car on the street.

Either side of my car was a Nissan Micra (wing mirror fully smashed and hanging on by the wires) and a Ford Focus (also totally wrecked and hanging on by the wiring). Mine however had just been knocked to the folded in position with only a scuff on the casing. Thank god for solid engineering or i'd be forking out christ knows how much for a new wing mirror set up at my own expense.

I know i'm making light of it but joking apart it made me sick to look at a full row of vandalised cars, all owned by self respecting tax payers (maybe a generalisation) who just want to own a nice car and get a nights sleep without worrying about some drunkered wrecking it.

Luckily i'm moving a bit further out into the sticks next month.

You do get a better class of you out here in the sticks. They tend to leave the cars alone. All they seem interested in is cow tipping and sheep worrying.

Although, you do get the occasional drunken farmer involved in a drive by slurrying when they've been refused entry to a pub. I'm not joking about that!

Yep that once happened in a village near us, and one guy blasted his local bank with sh1t after they for-closed on him

Had a similar experience in my old A4. I parked up briefly in narrow street: as I rang the doorbell I heard a loud smash, and turned round to see a car (Astra I think) drive up the street with its mirror hanging off. Went to inspect my mirror and there was just a slight scuff on it. I assumed I was just lucky - speed / angle of strike perhaps? I specified electric folding mirrors when I got the A3, and make sure I use them!
